My dad stayed at Pickering Manor Rehab and received outstanding care. The staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely compassionate throughout his stay, which gave our family peace of mind. The kitchen team also went above and beyond, making special meals for him and accommodating his needs without hesitation. We’re very grateful for the entire team and the experience they provided.

I was there visiting a friend and I was so upset how the other residents were treated Dawn and Haley are the worst CNAs I've ever witnessed I have my own Home Care agency and I would never in a million years treat any of my clients like they do and the sad part about this place is that the nurses administration have no clue of what's going on they're nothing but not liars they have no empathy for anyone there and I'm going to report them to the CEO

I am writing to express my profound gratitude for the exceptional care provided to my mother, Margaret during her time at Pickering Manor. From the moment she arrived, we were struck by the compassion, professionalism, and unwavering dedication of your entire team. While I cannot name every individual, I would like to specifically commend the staff in Memory Care. Their commitment went far beyond their duties; they treated my mother with dignity, warmth, and genuine kindness. It is clear that Pickering Manor is not just a facility, but a community built on respect and excellence. Thank you…

My elderly cousin was here. They took such great care of her. Thank you for taking care of her. She felt like she was in a 4 star hotel.

Pickering Manor is a true gem! My mom was admitted to their SNF for rehab following a stroke. They proved excellent care from the nursing team, therapists, activities and even housekeeping. All the staff are kind, caring, attentive and diligent in their care and treatment. They prepared her well to return to her IL apartment. She and her family are extremely pleased and highly recommend them to anyone needing this level of care.

My mother was a resident for seven years as her mobility and dementia progressed. Let me say that as welcoming as they were upon her arrival is how quickly they were done with us upon her demise. She passed on a Wednesday while I was out of state. By the time I arrived on Friday, her belongings were literally SHOVED into trash bags. The Social Worker, who was on the phone when I arrived, motioned me into her office, pointed at the bags and turned her back on me to continue her phone conversation.. She never spoke to me that day or contacted us since. We never received any condolences from anyone other than the lovely receptionist. No card, no letter, nothing BUT we do continue to receive all of the donation requests from them encouraging us to join in the building campaigns.

Pickering Manor was nice, but we decided it was just not for us. I probably like that the better of all the places we visited because it's right in Newtown. We saw a cottage, it was nice. They are older but they keep them updated. I thought it was fairly nice. It has two bedrooms, and two bathrooms and they have its own kitchen. You get ten dinners a month with your fee. I didn't see any of the food, it was in the morning. It seemed well taken care of and it's clean. The cottage is for independent living, but you are offered assisted living if you needed it.

My review is based off my 2019 experiences. Out of all the places my family member stayed for rehab this was the best care facility locally for the short to long term. There was no major concerns during the entire stay. Every other place we went to all had major concerns within 24-48 hours and we promptly left. They even have volunteers! Some of the ladies that volunteered even hung out with me after their time was over. There is always room for improvement but you can only do so much based off your size, budget, and resources available. If I ever need a place this is where I would like to go today.
