Victorian Villa

If you’re looking for a place for your elderly parent, I would definitely not recommend this place! My Mother has been there for a few months. She ended up in the Hospital about a month or so ago. The staff left her in her room all day, she hadn’t eaten, was soaked through her clothes & in pain. They let her go until evening before calling my sister to inform her they were calling an ambulance. She spent about a week in the Hospital, then a month in rehab before she returned to the Villa. She was there for literally 8 hours before she was back in the hospital in severe pain. When we went to speak to the Administrator Ladonna, she informed us that we expect too much from them. Really?!? We expected our Mother to be taken care of, she assured us Mom would be taken care of, she’d work with her because she wasn’t sure she could return to assisted living, instead, she was not given her Tramadol for her pain & was found on the floor screaming in pain. She took no responsibility for her not having given her, her pain medicine, which caused my mom to try to get up to find someone to get some medicine for her pain, instead she fell, ended up back in the hospital, which is where she still is. Every time we had a problem, we were asking too much. So if you want your parent taken care of & you don’t expect too much, them maybe you’d be ok here. Unfortunately we were less than happy with the care she received here & would definitely not recommend. This is both mine & my sisters opinion of this place.

I do not work for the Villa, I am there, however, 4 days a week with a family member. We started on the assisted living side and are now on the nursing side) I have been to many facilities with patients and family members. Many have been great, this one included. What I love about this place is that it's laid back and really focused on the residents. It's a very down to earth facility, and I say that as a compliment. They focus on getting residents out of the rooms for the day, engaging them in activities. I love the fact that you do not walk down halls and see rooms filled with residents living in beds. Instead, each bed is made( rooms are kept perfect, and I am a neat freak, so I love that) Residents are gotten up and taken to the lounge areas, to interact in activities or even the relaxing bird watching. They all seem so happy even though each has their challenges in life. The staff here is what makes this place. I pay close attention to interactions, how residents react, and how staff handles situations. I don't believe they could get a better staff, and I hope they always have this staff. Your facility is only as good as the team that runs it, and this one has a great team network going on.
