Our family member was very withdrawn and apprehensive about the change of his residence--had lived in the same home for 83 years! While his comfort level took several months to improve, he is a much changed (positively) individual who has shown rather remarkable intellectual, physical and emotional growth. He is the best I have seen him in decades. The negative aspect is that he has re-established his independence and a stubbornness streak has become evident. He now seems to possess the abilities to manage that independence however so, all is well. Suggestions? Ask staff when questions and or difficulties develop. Nothing is perfect and giving them the chance to improve is the right direction in which to proceed. If you don't bring questions to the attention of staff in even the best facilities, you don't give them the chance to improve THEIR performance AND, the resident's well-being and overall comfort. The Pines was my second choice after I observed "uncomfortable" scenes at the first facility I'd chosen. I'd felt The Pines "too formal" an atmosphere. It was the better if the two choices and the best of four facilities I'd visited last Fall.
The staff and administration at the Pines in Clark Summitt are extremely professional loving, attentive and supportive of all of the residents. I very please with the care given to all of the residents. I couldn’t have found a better place for my friend to reside. The Pines is a great place.
I’ve worked at the Pines Senior Living for almost 10 years now. I came onboard a few months after they opened. I will say that we have a strong group of dedicated, compassionate, and caring staff! Concerns of residents are promptly addressed by management and fully investigated. I would not stay with a company so long if I felt that our residents were not treated with the utmost respect and dignity. I do my part to provide the best care and comfort to all I serve and I am proud to work for the Pines!
Was a care aid there. They are absolutely terrible to work for. And I feel bad for the people who live there.. I was stopped on night while in training by one of the residents daughters and was asked who changed the beds? And when I answered her she said her mothers bed has been covered in pee for 3 days and asked if we (me and the girl I was training with) would please change the bedding so of course we did! That’s horrible how could they leave a lady in a pee covered bed for 3 days! Also ok their evergreen side (dementia and Alzheimer’s unit) one of their night shift staff wwed a lady into a wheelchair and when Brought up to management nothing was done about it. Some of these residents fall everybody and complain of pain and the only thing they do is give them Tylenol instead of sending them out or making appointments for them to be seen. One lady fell 3 times in 2 weeks and never was seen even when she could complain of pain the med tech would go oh well she’s getting Tylenol soon 🤦🏻♀️. On top of that they cut your pay to minimum wage if you don’t put your 2 weeks in. Isn’t that loving!
My mom moved to The Pines Senior Living. They're a newer facility. It has larger rooms for the residents, is very accommodating, very clean, and is top-scale. My mom said the food was good. They have activity rooms. They do exercises. They have games. They had a barbecue on the 4th of July. They're pretty active there. They have religious services, too. The value is worth your money.
Such a wonderful place. The staff is so professional, attentive, genuinely caring. Always something to do. Holiday treats from Dunmore Candy Kitchen ;) They make a big deal out of every celebration. The place is immaculate, very well maintained, well-managed. Comfortable . Like a nice upscale hotel. I have to mention how in tune they are with the adjustment process residents go through when moving to assisted living. They really do everything possible to ease the transition and ensure the comfort of the residents. Absolute highest recommendation!
We like the facility, mom's studio with 3 closets, big shower and the attentive staff. And attentive administration! Based on our experience so far we would recommend this community to other families.
