Good intake. Medication application Good. 1st weeks he had a lot of attention. Arranged for PT. PT stopped. Laundry is building up. Room not straightened after I was away for 3 weeks. He needs a shower more often. Soooo... started out real good, but complacency setting in. But he is needing more care than was expected. Waiting for memory lane to open.
It’s amazing. I’m so blessed to have [name removed] my dad there. He is so cared for. The place is spotless. The food is great. The activities. My dad has a great life there. It’s not a room. It’s an apartment. A lovely place he calls home. My stress level is so much better. I am not worried like I used to be. Elam Gardens is a hidden gem and. I’m so blessed to have found it. Thank you. A place for Mom.

I visited a family member at Elan Gardens. It seemed excellent. She mentioned the food was okay. But as far as the facility itself and the room and everything, it seemed very, very pleasant. The staff seemed very attentive. I saw the area where they eat and the outside area, and they're very pleasant, too. They had different kinds of rooms, and my family member had plenty of space. I was impressed with them.
I went to Elan Gardens. We had narrowed it down to two different places and Elan Gardens was more than happy to work with us. Like any time we sat down with them and we said, OK my dad can't afford this or my dad is trying for this, they were just very upfront. And if they could help, then they did graciously with no problems at all. It's a Jewish home and my dad is Catholic, but he could do whatever he wanted within his apartment. There was no question there. Inside his apartment it's his, that's his domain. Everybody was just so gracious and kind. He would have gotten a newly renovated room so it would have been new. My dad was in the hospital when I went to Elan Gardens. We figured out that he was going to need to go to a rehab center before he took possession of a place in Elan Gardens. Elan Gardens told us that they also have a sister program, which is Elan Skilled Nursing, and the paperwork between the two of them, between Elan Gardens and Elan Skilled Nursing, was extremely easy to get him transferred from one place to the other place. So, we jumped on that. My father was very excited. He was ready to move. And we were very, very comfortable with the way the people treated us and the way the staff there treated us.
We were extremely happy with the entire experience. They worked very hard to keep mom engaged and active. Everyone was extremely pleasant. It felt nothing like an old folks home!
Our family had an in person tour with Elan Gardens, Inc. and all of the staff members we had met with, we found to be very professional and they did a very thorough job with the tour. We ultimately had found a community that was just a little bit better of a fit.
The place was nice. Price was crazy but said it doesn't change based off level of care. The lady made me feel pressured like she was giving the room away unless I put deposit down right then. She made me feel rushed through the appointment as well.
