Elder care is a tough industry... it is constantly squeezed by cuts in healthcare-spending, the inflated-by-design operational cost structure of the industry, a perpetually underappreciated demographic, and challenging health issues endemic to the elderly. The team at St. Martha's is by no means immune to these macro factors; there will be rough spots among the team and within the services. However, this facility does a better job than most of navigating these conditions to fulfill what is clearly a mission-driven desire to help. Yes, there will be long waits on overworked, understaffed teams. Yes, there will be facility issues that go unaddressed for a day or three. However, the place is largely safe, clean (immaculate, really), and staffed with people who genuinely care about your loved ones recovering here. The food is terrific and the dietary needs are professionally managed in a holistic way. They made visiting easy, while still maintaining the necessary controls of such a location. The PT team did am exemplary job of getting my 72-year-old mom back on her feet and moving again. She went from being bed-ridden following a severe bout with sepsis to being back in her own home with 3 stories of stairs (yes, despite her being able to do it, doesn't make it an ideal situation and we are working on that with the help of St. Martha's Independent Living team) in 3 months. If you are reading this review, you are likely in an unfortunate situation already. My advice is to manage your expectations of any of these facilities given the state of the industry overall. After a ton of research done by my sister and me, landing on St. Martha's was an educated decision. That decision had its tests during our mom's stay, but at the end of all of it, I would highly recommend this caring team that ultimately proved their practices with results.

My mom had a fall and so we brought her to St Martha's Rehab. Immediately I was impressed with this facility - it was clean, bright, and everyone working there was extremely friendly. Any issues that occurred were immediately dealt with. The front desk was very attentive to any of our questions; this is not the norm with other places. While some of the nurses aides were not fully attentive, the majority of them were so helpful and friendly to my mom. A big shout out to both Sarah and Bea - they are the best! Kudos to the entire Physical Therapy team - they not not only got my mom walking…

Kudos to the entire Physical Therapy team - they not not only got my mom walking again, they routinely encouraged her and tried to elevate her spirits during this difficult time. So many of the staff stood out as super helpful: Beth, Robert, Diane, Janet, Frank in the dining room, and so many more. Becky, the Concierge, also consistently went out of her way to make sure that my mom had everything that she needed not only during her stay in Rehab, but also in transitioning to St Martha's Assisted Living. She was also a big help to us as we navigated through these last couple of months. Thank you all for everything!

We are very happy with our family member's care. She has had a journey these last 6 months. 4 Hospitals, 3 PT/Nursing Homes, she has been most happy here. She has nicknames for her caregivers, and it has been a fun thing for all. Thank you so much for her wonderful care.

My mom recently moved into St. Martha Center as a long-term care resident. Transitioning a loved one into a nursing home is no easy task. The staff has been friendly and caring. They respond quickly to any questions or concerns I may have. She enjoys the activities and engaging with staff. I appreciate the care she is receiving.

I am a son, writing on behalf of my 88 year-old mother about her recent recovery from a fall. Her hip was surgically fixed and we were looking for a short-term rehabilitation center before she could return home. We chose St. Martha Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Downingtown, and we're glad we did. I waited till post discharge to write this because reviews are often requested early on, and then, issues come to light where you wish you hadn't written a glorious review, especially when a rehab stay is multiple weeks. Well, I didn't have to wait...I could've written this glorious review day one because my mind hasn't changed. Saint Martha's facility is beyond wonderful on all aspects of rehabilitation. Neither me nor my mom was burdened with paperwork. From being stretchered in to discharge, we were kept informed about the most important thing - my mom's health and recovery. To make my mom feel welcome, the staff organized a Luncheon with other residents, a social gathering where they could get to know one another over a meal. The staff is loving, caring, mindful, they have a personal touch for every resident. Becky, Sudha, Jason, Theresa, Marianne, and countless others make this a home away from home. They not only care but understand that a home is built with family and that's how they treat residents. Needless to say, the facility is safe, clean, has amenities, kitchen onsite, dietician, individual meal plans, nurses, aides, wheelchair access to a small nature walk, physical therapy, a library, and fun things to do if residents are up for it. They know what people in recovery need and are able to provide with tender care. I highly recommend St. Martha Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Downingtown for short- and long-term care needs.

Since my father broke his wrist in December 2025, his dementia has required a new level of care. Navigating this was daunting, but we found an exceptional guide at St. Martha in Downingtown, PA: concierge Becky. She warmly helped my mom, dad, and siblings adjust to this lifestyle change with incredible grace. Kudos to St. Martha for hiring Becky. Her empathy guided us through a very tough process. Thank you, Becky, for everything you do. St. Martha is now my father's new home, and for that, we are grateful.

Had a terrific time. Love working with the Concierge, Becky. Fun meeting new people. She was the hit of the party. So much fun! This was the New resident luncheon. The Chinese food was delicious. The Chef, Sulie, deeply cares for residents’ preferences. Loved meeting staff and residents at the event.

I had to opportunity to visit this facility on multiple occasions. It is evident that the patients are well cared for in a clean, updated environment. The staff are very personable and compassionate.
