Abode Care of Monroeville has been wonderful for my dad. The staff is always kind, patient, and genuinely caring. Every visit, he’s clean, comfortable, and well taken care of, and they keep us informed and involved. We’re very grateful for the compassion they show him each day. Highly recommend.

My sister has been there for two months. The staff is very caring. Very helpful getting her settled. The activities director is very lively and works hard to engage everyone. We are very pleased with Abode!

BEWARE!! Do not send your loved one here. Pics are much better than reality. Not the cleanest. Workers always looked miserable. Food was horrible because they never had a cook or enough help. No communication when meds were changed or there were issues. When I had a complaint, I was not given the “real” owner’s name/number so I’m not sure who I spoke with. My advice:look elsewhere!!

Abode care staff are absolutely wonderful! One girl that's there at 6. She passes medication. She is wonderful she goes above and beyond to make sure you are at ease. The other caretakers are compassionate and always their when you need them. Dad was having rough time since mom passed so suddenly, they help him get through it. I could never thank them enough!

I toured Abode, not only is it a beautiful facility for your loved ones but the care is just as great! The staff truly goes above n beyond for the residents. You will not be disappointed. Also, there is one thing that I noticed about this facility is how they genuinely care for you and your loved ones. The amount of compassion and empathy felt within these walls is truly heart warming!

I toured Abode Care of Monroeville. The people were very nice. They're very professional. They have all the things that my dad needs. They have enough facilities open right now if I have to make a move, which I'm planning on doing so that I can get him in there. They have three doctors on staff. Joe was the point of contact there. She was very, very helpful. She was attentive. She was straightforward with me. She talked candidly, which I appreciate because that's how I am. I felt there was nothing that was kept or hidden from me. She put everything out in the open. Everything was right there for me, and I understood what she was saying. I went out there right after lunch and the residents were starting to play bingo. They have a snack area. They have a chef there who cooks the meals. The building was clean. The other thing they told me is if I do choose them, they will remodel the rooms before the person comes in. Other than having to provide a TV and my dad wanting his bed, they provide all that stuff. They had three different levels. They had shared rooms, single rooms with shared bathrooms, and single rooms with just their bathroom. They do have elevated care in case my dad would deteriorate, so they're definitely on my radar.

To me, Abode Care of Monroeville has more of a nursing home/hospital kind of a vibe to it. It's more of a sterile kind of environment. It's all hard flooring. There's no carpeting. It was clean, though. The director was very nice and very knowledgeable. She was receptive to what we were looking for. No complaints about her.

My husband has moved into Abode Care of Monroeville assisted living. I was impressed with its front. It's just nice when you walk into the area. His room is spacious. They were able to get him into a semi-private one but nobody else is in there with him so that's a good thing. I would say they're short of staff. They invited us to a gathering there, it was a Thanksgiving dinner, and all the staff from all areas seemed to be there. They were very friendly and helpful but they don't have enough staff at night. They come if you need them, though. They have a thing around my husband's neck and sometimes we call if we want them to do something and they come. Physical therapy is all my husband has been able to do but they have a TV room where people meet. I was told that they have games, too, but he doesn't want to participate in them. The dining area is nice and spacious. The people are not jammed up on each other and they have nice tables. My husband just complains about the food because it seems like it's not freshly cooked. I guess they had it brought in. He is accustomed to home-cooked food so he complains about it.
