My wife is doing well there for rehab. She loves her private room The staff have been excellent to her. PT has been very helpful. Keep up the good work Transitions!!
Care at the shook home is terrible.. My grandfather is here and not getting the care he needs. They dont clean the patients when they need it and family has to go in and do it! Then the staff says aww you dont have to do that. Well somebody does because the staff isnt. We expressed our concerns and still no solution.
My favorite job
Sadly I was canceled for an August 12 performance at Transitions Shook in Chambersburg, PA, by Tiffany Kline which has been booked for quite some time. I was the only vendor who stuck with the place through the pandemic, being understanding when there was a quarantine and being flexible with cancellations, including Norovirus, which usually happens when people don't wash their hands and then it spreads from the kitchen. This time, something else came up where she just wanted to free up space in the budget. In checking with Transitions corporate, they confirmed that the budget was not cut, so I was essentially a placeholder until something else came along that she wanted to do. I've performed there since 2018 doing a lot for the community. Hopefully moving forward, other vendors will not be treated this way. If corporate didn't slash the activities budget, then either the local administrator did, or Tiffany just wanted to do something else, but it's close enough to the date now that I probably won't be able to fill that day now.
They denied me for work comp because they said they not sure how I fractured my shoulder by rolling a 400 pound patient over it would have never happen if I wasn’t move to first floor after I did all my care I had go do 8 extra people cause there was not enough staff in building .
This is the worse rehab facility around they do not take proper care of anyone they had my grandfather for two days before he had to be taken back to the hospital because the nurses wouldn't prop him up to sleep causing him to aspirate in the middle of the night if you care about your loved one don't send them here
I am a resident of The Shook Home & Quarters at the Shook. It was clean. It was like a hospital setting. They were all good. The staff was good and friendly, and everything that you would expect. They have different things. They have arts and crafts and bingo. They have a dining room where you go and have your meals if you're capable. You always have your meds on time. The food was excellent. The people there really took pride in what they did.
I am at The Shook Home & Quarters at the Shook. They have two units here. They have a nursing home and a personal care assisted living section. We have good meals here. At first, they had to help me get up and get dressed, but I'm able to do that now myself, so I have improved a lot since I first came here. I'm satisfied with it. I have no problems. The staff is very friendly and very willing to help. They take care of anything. They take care of my doctor's appointments. So far, so good. The food is good. They give you what you want. They have menus that we fill out every morning for two days later, like this morning, I filled out the menu for Friday. You get choices and if you want ice cream or sherbet, they give you that. They have coffee, hot chocolate, or hot tea, whichever you want. They have bingo and bible studies. They have hymn singing tonight with the church coming in. You just call and they'll come if you need help. Everything's worked out pretty well that way. The staff takes care of me well.
