My grandmother in law has been here for over a decade and turns 95 years old this coming September. The staff I’ve encountered are all friendly and kind. The property itself has old character and charm, but inside and out is in need of updates and maintenance. This is a county home that’s changed names a few times since our family member has been in here. It simply is what you except for a retirement home, the good and the bad that is.

Transitions Healthcare Allens Cove Staff was unpleasant! If you work in a setting where you are to be helping people, then you should help them. For a person to go there seeking for help just to be mistreated, ignored and constantly being made to wait for hours before someone actually does something is not very professional, also having little to no bedside manner on top of it! If you work in this setting and simply just go for a paycheck, find a different profession! This place was completely awful for my mother, she would call me daily crying from being in pain and no one was giving her medicine. They would completely ignore her calls, she was supposed to be there for therapy, which didn’t even really happen. I’m definitely glad she is out of there!

TRASH if I could give zero I would I have a client in here last year and they let my girl sit there and because non mobile they never did her PT they don’t interact with yall family members they just o it them in a a room and turn on lassie . And play bingo I got screamed at by a higher up for being on my phone because I thought I was one of his employees. Don’t send your loved ones here .! The inside of the place is drab and depressing and smells like poop and pee they don’t bath my client stunk I was unable to bath her . Just terrible!

Excellent PT/OT. Room care very slow to come including medications.

This place is deplorable care for residents is terrible nurses do not like to be called out for there incompetence the rooms are filthy patients will sit in there urine and poop and are told be there soon bed soars on family members and when you address these things staff will have you thrown out of building and conversations at nurses station are horrendous the charge nurse on days is extremely disrespectful no eye contact and down plays everything or concerns ex stream lack of care do not place your family in here ever

After careful consideration and much prayer, we felt like God lead us to Transitions, and we have been very satisfied with our Mom’s care. She enjoys the activities and raves about [name removed] who coordinates the schedule. It is obvious that the nurses genuinely care for the residents and that the residents care for each other. [name removed] has been quick to answer all of my questions and is very approachable. If there is any room for improvement, it would be the food.

Attended the Perry County Chamber of Commerce Businesswomens' Luncheon on September 5, 2024. Had a tour of the facility and the recent upgrade of available services, including the different levels of therapy. Explanation of the different levels of care, the pricing structure (when insurance pays and when it is self pay), and the staffing of the facility. Both short-term and long-term care is available. The Independant Living quarters tour allows pets and those who still drive. This wing stems off of the historic building side of the complex with renovations that kept many aspects of the charm of the original building. All meals are included, and there is an Activity Director. The Independant Living Residents are the first priority if they need to be upgraded to more advanced care. Independant Living is all self-pay, and the resident would need to qualify. Our tour explained a brief summary of the process. Everyone was knowledgeable, friendly, and truely seemed to enjoy all the upgrades to the facility that had happened recently.

Horrible place!!!! Dirty and smells of urine!!! Short staffed!!! And the PT is a JOKE!!! My mom was there after hip surgery and literally quit eating and drinking bcuz she was afraid no one would take her to the bathroom in time and she would have an accident!!! She sat there 22 minutes waiting for someone to answer her bell and take her!!! She’s 85 yrs old and deaf so there were a lot of issues with the employees DO NOT GO THERE!!!!
