This year ( 2024 ) the Age-in-Place language was removed from the Providence Point agreement. This year ( 2024 ) the Age-in-Place language was removed from the Providence Point agreement. Also, restrictions were applied preventing aids from accompanying independent living residents to activities & dining rooms. Therefore, my disabled MiL who has lived in a Providence Point apartment since 2017, was no longer able to attend activities and was under threat of MGMT moving her to the nursing home section ( or "health care" their euphemism.) Assisted living residents & health care are also not allowed to attend activities. After seven years there, the changes are just not acceptable ( especially given the cost) and we moved MiL to a disabled- & aid- friendly community. We cannot recommend Providence Point currently.

Sickening how they take financial advantage and continue to charge more for less amenities for these residents.

Awful care. While my dad was staying there the night nurses would get so tired of helping him get comfortable to go to sleep they would wheel him out to the nurses station and have him sit with the nurses overnight and did not listen to him when he said he wanted to sleep. What person would want to stay up all night and sit at a nurses station solely because the nurses did not want to help him get comfortable. I genuinely wish I was making this up because it was actually insane of them. Then to add onto it they lied on the report saying that he “asked to sit outside overnight at the nurses…

I genuinely wish I was making this up because it was actually insane of them. Then to add onto it they lied on the report saying that he “asked to sit outside overnight at the nurses station”. It was absolutely baffling. Why would a 70 year old want to stay up all night? Insensitive and lacking care. He hated it there.

The staff was truly amazing. They treated my mother with great care and compassion. She went into rehab with such fear, but 11 days later, she was more than thankful to everyone who helped her to heal so she could go home. I could not give 5 stars as she had to be moved twice due to flooding, and they took her dirty or soiled personal clothing and either lost it or threw it away. They are stating she will be reimbursed so waiting to see how this process goes. Overall, I would highly recommend this facility.

Providence Point has a staff that is committed to the residents they serve. The staff work with the residents to provide individualized care to allow residents to eat when they want, get up when they want, bathe when they want and even choose their own therapy time. This makes the residents feel more like they are at home rather than in a nursing facility.

My mother was a resident for several years. The only good thing there is the atmosphere and housekeeping. The administration was non responsive to any issues. They did not value patient and family rights and we struggled and had to involve the county ombudsmen to firm a family council. In our opinion Very few registered nurses and the cna staff has far too many residents and are constantly complaining of under staff and low wages. In our experience Residents encouraged to wear diapers , take anxiety meds and be wheelchair bound to make it easier for staff. Call bell response time is terrible with staff turning off bell without providing requested assistance. 2 patient transfer was ignored causing resident to suffer fracture. Lawsuit settled out of court. Weekend staffing is poor and resident care suffers. The negative list goes on.

It's just outside of Pittsburgh. The have a little bus that will pick you up and take you around to where you need to go but it was well over $6000 to $7000 a month for independent living! I don't think so! Everybody's different but I mean, I couldn't live there and my mom would probably only be able to stay for year and then she's have to find something else. It's very nice but they didn't have any rooms available anyway.
