DO NOT, I MEAN DO NOT, SEND YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS FACILITY! I would give zero stars if I could. This place is not suitable for anybody, except the bed bugs they send home with people. My mother was there for a brief period of time until she had a stroke. While there, we bought her a lift chair, because she had issues getting up on her own. She went to a rehab facility, after the stroke she had while at the facility. Instead of checking with us to see if she was coming back, they called and asked if we wanted to donate her things, as he room was being given away. We proceeded to pick up all…
DO NOT, I MEAN DO NOT, SEND YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS FACILITY! We proceeded to pick up all her belongings and found out that the lift chair was infested with bed bugs. When calling the facility to inform him that he should be reporting this to the state, as is the law in these situations, he laughed and said he didn't have to. This is the level of care and concern that that have for their patients - deplorable!
The administrator is extremely unprofessional! The residents are rude and disrespectful!not worth the price!
Penn Assisted Care was nice. It is a little small, but it may do good for my brother. There's a lot of people like him in the facility. The administrator was wonderful. He was so nice. It seemed like he cared about the people. It's in a nice location. The rooms were a little small but had a very homey feeling. It had an outdoor patio that allowed the residents to go out and be outside. The bathrooms are very clean.
We thought Penn Assisted Care was a very nice place. We thought it was a good place. The staff there was very good and very helpful. We met the guy that was in charge of the place and we were impressed. It seemed very good. The rooms were nice. They had roommates. It's not a single, it's a double, but they were very nice. They had a nice deck, too. They had a library, but there was no pool or gym or anything like that. They had activities. They go out and stuff like that. The overall atmosphere was good. I think the guy who runs the place is very, very committed to it. I don't think my friend is quite ready to go in there yet, but in the future, if this becomes necessary, I think it would be a good place to go.
It doesn't feel like a hospital, which is nice. It's a very large, older house with lots of rooms and living rooms and such. I was thankful to be able to get her in there and that she was able to afford this. (I really don't know how the elderly can afford some of these places.) I'm thankful that at Penn Assisted Care, my mother can now get on a regular schedule, receive care, and be around people since I still work full time.
My friend moved into Penn Assisted Care. It was a good match for him. It wasn't a hard process at all. The staff members are very helpful. They take the time to address any situations that need to be addressed. They're very professional. My friend likes the food. They have day rooms and people interact with each other. It's a pleasant setting and very personal.
Penn Assisted Care seemed very organized and well-staffed. The residents were very, very happy there, and everybody was very friendly. The staff who gave me the tour was really good. He was very patient and caring. He knew the residents and they knew him. He wasn't just the salesperson, he was involved with the residents there. The rooms were a nice size, and they were pretty much allowed to make it homey. I saw what they were eating and it looked like the normal home-cooked kind of food.
I toured Penn Assisted Care. My mom has Parkinson's and they're fully equipped to handle that. It's very clean. It's very basic and very outdated, but suitable for their needs. The staff was very friendly, very personable, and very knowledgeable. They seemed well trained. It seems like they have a decent number of options for activities and visitors. They also have basic TV, games outside, and things in the area.
