Rochelle did a great job of explaining how it all works, and giving us advice

My tour guide was very professional as well as warm and welcoming. We toured most of the property and she answered our many questions very well. The property is very beautiful and the tenants looked and behaved very happy to live there!

We moved my mom to Lighthouse Pointe 2 1/2 years ago. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the apartment, services, activities and most of all the care and attention that she receives. The management and the staff sincerely care for their residents and always look out for their best interest and safety. My mom is treated by all as if she is their own family. I highly recommend Lighthouse Pointe for independent living.

Rachelle showed me 2 apartments on the first floor that would meet my needs, as well as the dining room, common activity rooms and impressive library. She was personable, and encouraged me to come a second time if I wanted to, and possibly even spend a few days in the guest suite to get a feel for daily life at Lighthouse Point. I was most impressed by the residents who met us by chance in the hall and stopped to ask if I had any questions of them. Compared to other places I visited, the residents seemed to be out and about, not in their apartments and were very friendly. When I left, I felt that I could be very comfortable there.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Lighthouse Pointe Senior Care Home. My father-in-law is 95 years old and recently lost his wife, so this transition was an emotional and delicate one for our family. From the very beginning, Rachelle and Sherri went above and beyond in every possible way to help him relocate and feel supported, welcomed, and truly cared for. Lighthouse Pointe is a beautiful independent living community, filled with warmth and life. There are so many activities and opportunities for residents — including field trips to stores, shows, and restaurants — which makes it feel vibrant and engaging rather than overwhelming. My husband and I had the pleasure of eating with my father-in-law at Lighthouse Pointe, and we were blown away. The menu was incredible, the food was spectacular, and there were so many thoughtful options offered. It felt more like dining at a lovely restaurant than a senior community. Most importantly, every single person who works at Lighthouse Pointe has been kind, patient, and genuinely caring. Everyone has gone out of their way to help my father-in-law settle in and feel comfortable during such a tender time in his life. That level of compassion cannot be overstated. We are deeply grateful to Rachelle, Sherri, and the entire Lighthouse Pointe team for treating our family with such respect, warmth, and care. Knowing my father-in-law is in such a supportive and uplifting environment brings us tremendous peace of mind. We wholeheartedly recommend Lighthouse Pointe to any family looking for an exceptional senior living community

Rachelle was an excellent tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and informative.

Update November 2025 : The management of Lighthouse Point has contacted me and has worked diligently to improve the food! They have a real time feedback system in place to provide residents the ability to comment, There are also in person meetings with the residents to share their feedback in person. Both the quality and quantity of the food service is much better. During this time, our family member developed essential health related dietary needs. The chef and Lighthouse management learned about the dietary requirements and are providing gluten free options. They were very understanding and attentive and communicate with us regularly as needed, We are very pleased with their efforts and response to make Lighthouse Point the home that residents and their families expect. The management at Lighthouse also encourages us as family members to keep in touch to ensure that changes and improvements continue. Thank you for a job well done! August 2025 Lighthouse Pointe at Chapel Harbor is a lovely facility. The staff are friendly and helpful with ONE HUGE EXCEPTION. Since being taken over by Oakdale Senior Alliance, the food is disgraceful!! (Previously, this was a hospital based facility and the food was very good.)Since getting Metz Culinary as the food supplier, the food has continued to deteriorate. Portions have been cut, they often run out of specified entrees, and the texture of the meats are difficult for residents to chew even with good teeth. The servers fuss about assignments in front of residents!! What kind of company is Metz??? And WHY isn’t Oakdale supervising that contract? This situation has to change. We are not happy. Seniors in a community as expensive as this deserve and should expect good food. It is vital for their health and overall well being!!

UPDATE 11/17/25 - I am very pleased to report that I was contacted by Lighthouse Point Upper Management shortly after my initial review was posted. They have been extremely understanding, responsive and have made truly significant changes to their food service. They took my concerns seriously, sought continued feedback over time and I can now report that all of the problems I mentioned in my initial post have been resolved. My Mother and the other residents have been very pleased with their efforts and the new food offerings. Due to a change in my Mother's health, they have also added gluten-free offerings to their menu. I am very appreciative of their commitment to improve! A job well-done. AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2025 - While this facility and the staff are very nice, ever since it has not been owned by UPMC, the food has been TERRIBLE!! They CONSISTENTLY RUN OUT OF FOOD despite tiny portions, the food does not match what is stated on the printed monthly menu and the quality and nutritional value of the food is poor. The facility has been promising for MONTHS that this would improve and it has not. I am starting to look for alternative living arrangements for my Mother. It's such a crying shame...
