We have family there and they love it. To sum it up easily... it is know as "the cruise ship in the corn field." Many dining choices and also things for grands to do with grandchildren including, bowing, swimming and arcade and a summer camp for grandchildren to stay with grandparents.
Wow. What a beautiful, elegant residence. And the buffet was awesome. All the staff are so friendly and efficient.
Unfortunately this facility did not have an immediate opening for my mom as I needed something right now (which actually speaks volumes about how good they are) but the amount of information and help I received from the lady I spoke to on the phone was absolutely amazing! She did not have to take the time to help me and guide me in the right direction but she did. THE best customer service I have received in a very long time. Such as asset to to this facility! Thank you.
Phenomenal people working here along with the atmosphere makes this a wonderful place.
We moved in when the two-meal plan was the only option. We were not told that Willow Valley can decided to introduce different meal plans.. Willow Valley made no attempt to offer residents on the two plan a chance to change to one of the new plans or make improvements in the two meal plan. Other plans can get in and out at will, so if they go away for two days or months, they don't pay for meals. Two meal plans residents pay for breakfast and dinner and pay for either meal if they choose to go out of Willow Valley for that meal. Willow Valley also does nothing to compensate two-meal plan residents until they are gone for seven (7) days and you only get a small refund. Two meal residents are limited to a certain amount and cannot carry over any funds, where as the other plans carry over for a month or two. Be careful when you do your tour - there are a lot of good things, but with Willow Valley ill-advise growth some things will be difficult to participate. Notice that clubs are run by residents and if that resident no longer wishes to continue and no other resident takes over - that club ceases to exist (used to be a German Club). Willow Valley will ensure you meet only residents who are thrilled to be here. The residents who aren't have been warned to read their contract carefully. Residents have no say on what Willow Valley chooses to do to public areas. Their main interest is to decorate for future residents not the ones who are paying a large sum to LIVE HERE. Once they have your money, your views and wants are no longer of interest to management. This place used to have a warm and cozy feel and looked like a place that people lived - now the halls and public spaces feel like a hotel where people stay a short time. What you are told before you move in seldom matches the truth. Residents are not given the truth and often Willow Valley is deceptive. Meals used to be like a 4 star restaurant - now often like a college cafeteria. If you want the best deal - Smart Life may be the better option. Most of the service staff are great, but management I'd rate as "3 minus"
I am in an Apartment as I am in independent living. It is good here, free limited breakfast, inside parking garage and great people who live here. The problem is that we have been given faulty information from the start. Our predicted move in date was off by 2 months and many things were not explained well. We were not aware that there is a cost for much of the entertainment. We were told that many buildings have arrangements that some residents share pet care so that when someone goes away ,someone in the building cares for their animal(s) and they reciprocate at other times. That is not true in our building and we are trying to find someone who will care for our animals while we are away. We were also told that we can pay for housekeeping, but unfortunately I was told that our building is short staffed and I may or may not have someone on a regular basis. We were never advised that getting a driver's license coming from another state would be such a time consuming and frustrating experience. There are days that I feel like we were a victim of bait and switch. Be wary of all the hype that you are given when you make your first deposit. Being here has its benefits but also its faults.
Wonderful full facility for older adults who also need help on a daily basis.
This place is beautiful inside n out. Guests are treated like family. Getting updated with new paint, lighting, and carpet. So big inside, easy to get turned around, but just ask someone who works there or follow the signs. It takes your breath away when you walk in.
