I am very happy with the care my dad is receiving here! Everyone has been wonderful! This facility is very clean and has great activities everyday! The food is also amazing!
I am a resident at Heritage Grove and I love being here. I love all the workers especially the activities director Jenny and the aids Stephanie and Blue. The building is very clean and well taken care of. I like the food sometimes and they always offer something different if I don't. They are really good at making sure we are happy and listened to. We do lots of fun stuff and I think a lot of people would like living here.
Posting for my mother and my grandmother: We have a great time at Heritage Grove. Mom enjoys her cozy but carefree room we refer to it as her apartment. Her care givers are more like friends. Always knowing she is both safe and cared for as needed is a huge relief for our family. Heritage Grove is a warm place in a relaxed atmosphere. Mom enjoys her independence with a safety net looking after her well being at all times.
I have a loved one residing there and the care and team are exceptional. Highly recommend.
I can’t say enough about heritage grove at Indiana. My mother has been there for 6 months and we couldn’t be happier. The administrator and head nurse are all so caring and constantly keeping us updated on how mom’s doing. The food and activities are A+ and keep mom so active. She also made friends with some of the other residents and every time I come visit she’s always with a friend. Thank you to the staff at heritage grove for looking out for mom.
Although I feel she got adequate care at Heritage Grove, and she was very fond of one of the girls [name removed], who spent quality one-on-one time with her, I have to admit that the atmosphere (the dining area and the "living room" area) was less than inviting. My mom's room was small and she had no place to sit except for on her bed. The "nursing home" odor was overwhelming at times. With that being said, I feel the staff do the best they can. I truly believe they are very short-staffed. The executive director, [name removed], is very professional and has been nothing but kind and helpful. [name removed], who I believe is the nursing director, is great. It seems she wears many hats and is the primary "go to" person for staff and family members.
Staff do not communicate enough with family/POA re: changes in med orders, additional medical consults that are ordered, when a client returns from ER. Administration: Have not had enough interaction to provide an adequate review. The Administrator that assisted with my loved one admission was great (5). But she left soon after and the only interaction I have had with new Administrator: 4. My loved one complains about it most of the time. States meals are "cheap." I provide him with snacks and drinks kept in a fridge kept in their room. My loved one does not attend activities. Seems that there may not be enough encouragement for him to go?...Many activities center around Christian activities which leaves folks out who are not religious/Christian. My loved one is upstairs. I have no experience with downstairs (memory care)
My dad moved to Heritage Grove at Indiana, and the cost was one of the biggest issues. They had what they call a companion room, a shared room. That was the only place I could find offering that. The staff I've had contact with, including the executive director, seems very caring. She answered all my questions and kept in contact with me. The day I took my dad's clothes out before he arrived, the aide came right into the room, put her hand out, introduced herself, and shook my hand. It's a square with a shared area in the middle. There were chairs, couches, and a big TV on the wall. It also serves as the dining room. On top, there's assisted living, and underneath is where the memory care is. You use an elevator to get down there, and it is secured. There's no way out except locked fire exits and the elevator.
