This place is ok…. As long as you like the smell of bleach and your love ones getting sub par care. My father in law had a stroke almost 2 years ago after living with us for a year he needed more care then we were able to provide, so we found this place being close to home and gave it a shot. After a while when going with my wife to get her fathers stuff due to him being admitted to the hospital due to the staff not giving proper treatment to my father in law , the owners husband was completely rude , raising his voice and refusing to release the medication that my father in law paid for.…
This place is ok…. As long as you like the smell of bleach and your love ones getting sub par care. My father in law had a stroke almost 2 years ago after living with us for a year he needed more care then we were able to provide, so we found this place being close to home and gave it a shot. After a while when going with my wife to get her fathers stuff due to him being admitted to the hospital due to the staff not giving proper treatment to my father in law , the owners husband was completely rude , raising his voice and refusing to release the medication that my father in law paid for. This all could have been avoided if the staff and the owners done there job. Also getting phone calls from my father in law that the staff refused to push him to the dining hall in his wheel chair while having a doctors note. Not to mention the multiple times we had to hear second hand that my father in law fell and when asked why the office didn’t reach out , all we got was she is “too busy” and she don’t have time to call everyone each time something happens. For having only 25 residents at the time , I thought that was a poor excuse.
My father spent over 7 months at Hearthstone, and I'm leaving this review so other families know the truth. The administration was dishonest with us — we were told things that our Franklin County ombudsman directly contradicted. They tried to take advantage of my father and failed only because they got caught not being truthful. If they'll lie to us, who else are they lying to? When I called it out, I became the problem, and the administrator's husband screamed at me. This place showed us who they are. Believe them.
Not a good environment for residents or staff.
Gave this place a shot and not my cup of tea. It’s a strange work environment. Employees are talked about negatively and also disrespected especially by management. After being assertive, vocal, and all while keeping pretty respectful I chose to leave. Management aren’t respectful and for $15 an hour? Nah nope not worth it dude. It’s a strange environment, organized and clean, but strange. Everyone just talks about each other and they seem pretty distracted when the residents should be the primary focus. When you have a new hire, there should be a common sense understanding that there needs to be a period of time where you are adapting to the rules and schedules. This place doesn’t give you that opportunity. Sure seemed like you had to know everything right off the bat. Within 2 weeks? Nah it doesn’t work that way. There’s a lot to absorb and follow. It’d be a lot for anyone especially people with a lot of experience like me even. Management doesn’t really have a filter and regardless of a paycheck, a manager messaging you and cussing is unacceptable regardless of whatever the situation is especially false accusations of oversharing info about a meeting. It’s like receiving a disrespectful text message from a toxic teenager. Next time I suggest you vocalize that it stays between you and the other person or simply keep it to yourself. Hope this place see’s better days. Some of the staff deserve it. Shout out to Heather, Lori, and the kitchen staff. Truly hard working peeps. VERY HARD WORKING.
I called in to talk to my grandmother and some woman named Jerry answered and was EXTREMELY rude. If staff is that disrespectful to family it greatly concerns me that they are most likely abusing the residents when no one is around. I'm talking to my family about getting my grandmother th out of there. Something is going on behind the scenes. This is not a good environment for people to be living in AT ALL. That woman I spoke to was extremely comfortable being extremely rude and clearly acts this way all the time without management doing anything about it, so they're probably abusive with residents as well. Do not put people here.
My father currently resides here. The personal care staff are very kind to him and the administration is very helpful and well organized. I am relieved that he is well taken care of here.
My Mom is 88 and loves this place, I have peace of mind that my mom is being taken care of 24/7
I went with my church Christmas caroling group. We sang as they had dinner... Many sang along with us!!!
