My sister has early onset Alzheimer's disease, and moved into Elm Terrace Gardens over a year ago. She is in independent living; a nice apartment of her own. The RESIDENTS are extremely friendly and supportive of each other, which makes for a lovely community atmosphere. The STAFF go above and beyond. When my sister forgets about activities, they will often come and find her when she doesn't show up, since she has trouble remembering; also, when she is upset or has a problem, there are staff (clergy, nurse, administrative staff) who are always there for her. With continuing care, I know that…

With continuing care, I know that when it comes time for her to be moved into Memory Care, she will be well looked after as well.... in the meantime, they are making every effort to keep her in independent living and are willing to give her the extra help she needs in order to do that. I am so thankful that we found this perfect place for her to live well and be happy!
I took an art class and learned to paint
Have tried in past to post my review but seems like Elm Terrace only posts the positive reviews. Had both my parents in Elm Terrace for many years started out as independent and things were fine but once it got to personal care it was nightmare. Especially when resident was not fully cognitive. What we witnessed was verbal abuse, physical abuse and mental abuse. It’s been years since my parents have been there since 2019 & 2023 but the memories of what they put my parents through will always be there. Should you decide to place your love ones there just please monitor them…maybe use nanny cams
Mom is very content at ELG. She moved in March, and after a month of “settling in”, she is accepting. She enjoys conversation with other residents, likes the food and her room. Her room, clothes and appearance is always clean and tidy. The staff are very kind and she says they are very nice. Having Alzheimer’s, it’s difficult to gauge, but I’m so very grateful that this transition was much easier than expected. She lived with us for 25 years and it’s been a painful separation, but, best for both of us. Thanks ETG.
Great place for anyone who want to retire, for rehabilitation or long-term care.
Amazing place with awesome caring staff
Very scary dementia unit without any supervision. Staff are nice but are very hard to communicate with. Management is controlling and very mean and nasty. Beware
My parents were both at Elm Terrace Gardens, and I would highly recommend it. My mom started in independent living, but they still had nursing available, so she was able to get around and do what she needed to do but she still had nurses nearby that could help her. When she started needing help with her medications she was still in independent living but they went down to the nurse's station to get her medications for her when she started confusing them. They kept an eye on her and they listened to my concerns. And when she needed to go to personal care, we were able to move her. We worked with them, and they worked with us to get her into personal care. She needed personal care until she passed away. My father went right into skilled care. He was in skilled care the whole time, and I liked how they treated him there, too. So, the option of having all of those things there was beneficial. They're very good at keeping on top of things. We never had any problems with them. If there was a spill or something, they came and took care of it right away. I thought it was very clean and very well taken care of. The staff was very good, from the people in the kitchen to the nurses. My mom had a dietary issue, and they would keep an eye on her, and they did that for other people too. I've known several people who have lived there. I used to go to the cafeteria with her occasionally to have lunch, and the food was very well-cooked, done well, and not too bland.
