I am originally from Scranton and moved to Florida in 1999. My parents and sister still live in the area. I work in skilled nursing in Florida but not associated with Elan Nursing and Rehab. My dad was recently admitted to Elan and I want to express my sincere appreciation to the staff at the nursing center. They have been wonderful through a very stressful time, and my father is starting to settle in. The team has been so nice and responsive with my family. Again, thank you to the Elan team for everything you do every day
If this place is a disgrace than it's important to file a complaint so that things can change fir the better. Action speaks louder than words.
My husband had been in the home for less than a month. He was recuperating from an operation. He was given the strengthening exercises & nourishing food that he needed. He was very thin & they provided him with a comfortable sleeping mattress. The place seemed clean whenever I visited. There were no odors in the hallways. He was on the second floor. The social worker was an excellent person, helping me with all my concerns. I never did get to meet him. They also washed my husband's personal clothes. I believe the nurses were so attentive & a person brought my husband Ed a daily devotional…

I believe the nurses were so attentive & a person brought my husband Ed a daily devotional reading. Someone provided Ed with a radio as he doesn't watch tv. He doesn't drink coffee, but he was given coffee everyday. There was no way he could get hot tea. He didn't complain because that is not his way. Overall being at The Jewish Home was a good experience.
There now beginning my rehab and wellness program after having my left leg below my knee amputated at Geisinger Scranton's location formerly called Scranton's Community Medical Center (CMC)
This was the most disgusting place it was my misfortunes be a patient I would rate it a nightmare. All employees with the exception of a few nurses were rude nasty and completely uncaring. The rooms were not the cleanest either Why would it take one hour and ten minutes to answer a call to use the rest room
I recently had the opportunity to visit a friend at Elan Skilled Nursing, and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The facility is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which immediately put my mind at ease. The staff members were incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive, making sure that all residents receive the care they need. It’s clear that they genuinely care about the well-being of their residents. Additionally, I was amazed by the great resources they provide to the community. It’s wonderful to see a facility that is so dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its residents and their families. Overall, I highly recommend Elan Skilled Nursing for anyone seeking quality care in a welcoming environment!
First, 7 of these worded reviews are from employees. My relative was here for a year on the skilled nursing floor. There were a few very good nurses indeed. However, overall, management is an utter disgrace. I had to call there approx 5 x's a week with one problem or another. This was extremely frustrating and took up a lot of my time. Good luck getting a straight answer or 2 of the same answers from 2 different employees. Having had to pay over $11k a month was such a waste of money. On one occasion I needed to speak to someone, anyone, in the back office of the 1st floor. Waited an hour. Apparently, the mgmt team , HR, etc. all take their lunch at the same time. Another unheard of way to run a business. Not even going to get started on a pair of prescription glasses that went "missing". Took almost 9 months, I repeat, 9 months to get a replacement. I don't know about the other floors, but heed my warning, if u are looking for long term care, do not go here. Thankfully, I found a MUCH BETTER place and it is $1k cheaper.
I have worked for this company since December of 2023 and it is a great company to work for
