My father moved in to Brookdale Bloomsburg in March and our family has been very pleased with the care he has received. Brookdale is not your typical assisted living facility. The environment is homey, quaint, and very clean. The staff is consistently kind, compassionate, and attentive, and it is clear that they genuinely care about the residents' well-being. The management team has also been wonderful. From the very beginning, they were friendly, supportive, and incredibly helpful as we navigated the difficult process of choosing an assisted living facility and moving my father in. They took the time to answer our questions, address our concerns, and make the transition as smooth as possible. My dad is happy living here, which says a lot because he has always been completely against living “in a nursing home.” He says that the staff is “top notch” and that the food is “delicious.” Hearing him so satisfied, as well as knowing that he is safe, well cared for, and treated with respect, gives our family tremendous peace of mind. We are grateful for the dedication and professionalism of everyone here and would highly recommend this facility to other families looking for quality assisted living care.

Mom says, “they saved my life.” After living alone for over a year, and no longer driving, she felt isolated and alone. She worried a lot and got little sleep. She loves her studio apartment and just has to open the door to find company. Brookdale has daily activities, wonderful meals, and a professional and courteous staff. Our family can stop worrying knowing she is safe and happy.

Although Mom’s stay at Brookdale was relatively short, we will always have the deepest gratitude for the experience she had with you in the last months of her life. She so enjoyed her dining partners, the great care and attention she was given by all the staff, and the activities which enriched her life. Special thanks to Ron for his gentle attention on the rides they took which she loved. As her family, we couldn’t be happier with the help, instruction and guidance generously shared with us as we made decisions concerning Mom’s care. Deborah, Diane, Jasmyn, Sandra and more were always so gracious to us. From help with Mom’s 100th birthday party to clearing her room after she passed - there was no end to the kindness. It blessed Mom’s life and ours to be associated with Brookdale.

If you have any friend or family member needing this type of residence, don't hesitate, best I've seen

Brookdale is smaller facility and that gives a cozy impression. There is more one on one attention to residents. The suites are spacious. General rooms are adequate. We are happy with our choice.

There is one staff member named [name removed] that goes over and beyond. She takes residents for drives and plans lots of activities and is very caring and engaged. My mother in law has severe memory loss but she really enjoys engaging with the health workers, probably more than the other residents. We like that Brookdale can accommodate people in various levels of functioning. Also nice to see some people in end stages that could easily be in a nursing home. Her only complaint is the food. She is Vegan and can't eat most of the food. She likes the cereal for breakfast but doesn't eat much after that. She relies on peanuts and raisins which [name removed] keeps in her room. [name removed]also thought it would be nice if there was a dispensary where they could buy some basics, like toiletries, snacks, etc. The cost could be added to her monthly bill. On a personal note, my wife and I discussed the abundant use of Styrofoam cups. They are toxic to drink out of and take thousands of years to degrade in land fills. A paper alternative would be more environmentally friendly. My mother in law loves it there and we highly recommend. The items I mentioned are minor.

They have been wonderful! I've never had the food and Mom has not yet participated in the activities. After a fall requiring hospitalization the staff stayed in daily contact with the outside facilities providing service until her return. The facility is in PA and I am in South Carolina and they regularly advise me of anything medically necessary for mom's care.

My mother in law loves the people there, both the residents and employees. This is closest to us do we get to see her almost every day.
