Such a wonderful place and the great people; and. Parker is an absolute gem and really professional and poise. The happiness that she’s giving and receiving to this place is unmatched.
I would have no hesitations recommending Allegheny Place to any loved one. Staff members Tamika, Chanpell, and Darnell (just to name a few) always go above and beyond to help anyone in need and truly treat the residents with so much respect and dignity. The facilities are clean and there are always lots of activities and entertainment for the residents to participate in.
The building was very inviting and cozy. When I got there Jilene Miller met me at the front desk. I was introduced to the Director and the nurse. The residents were happily playing Bingo! Jil walked me through the building and showed me 2 types of rooms. There were 1 bedroom and Studio style. Both were nicely set up for the resident. I feel that whoever takes up residency there would be well cared for by Jilene and her staff. Lovely visit!
Administrative staff: [name removed] gets a 5. [name removed] a 2 (rarely returned phone calls or responded to emails). [name removed], the nurse, a 2. Rated his level of care at a 3 when it should have been a 1.
It had a friendly, family feel to it. The staff that visit the patients rooms (cleaning, med techs, physician assistant) are so friendly. My in-laws immediately felt at home. We were able to put up family pictures and mementos on the walls which made all the difference. We switched their PCP to the physician practice that comes to AP every Thursday and that has been tremendously beneficial. The PA visits every patient every Thursday to check in with them! We didn't even realize they had PT and OT come right to the rooms, that was an unexpected surprise. Negatives: Many of the activities listed on their activity calendar aren't actually "activities". For ex: "water your plants" or "call a friend" or watch football in your room." The billing hasn't been smooth but we're working through it.
I like that it is small. 39 residents. The woman who does the activities is wonderful! Lots of energy. My mother is a very picky eater, so we supply frozen meals. The facility is nicely laid out. It is a big square with a courtyard in the middle.
When looking for a place for my mom, it was important to find not only a location that was close to home but one that included active staff involvement and resident participation in all activities of daily living. Care Patrol introduced us to Allegheny Place and we were embraced quickly by the onsite Sales Director, Jilene Miller. Following a thorough tour, Jilene guided us through a thoughtful explanation of the level of care and attention provided to each and every resident on a daily basis. We had found the home for mom! The entire staff has proven to be kind, capable, and engaged. Mom is enjoying her new residence, the accommodations, daily interaction with her neighbors, the food and the activities. There is always something to do. A special shout out to Mary Kugel, the awesome Activities Director! Our family feels extremely fortunate to have found Allegheny Place.
The activity Director is very conscientious of events happening that month. She does a good job of inviting outside Guests and resources to not only entertain, but also educate families. The caregivers are friendly, compassionate, and attentive.
