We just recently moved my mom to the memory care unit and we are very happy so far. The staff has been very kind and helpful. My mom is always clean and well taken care of. Chi Chi is one of the employees and she is awesome! I haven't gotten to know a lot of the others yet, but they all seem very caring with the residents. We had a birthday party there for my mom in a private dining room. They decorated it for her and showed a lot of care and patience for dealing with a fairly large group of us there. I was thankful for all that they did to make it special for her. It is under new management…

I was thankful for all that they did to make it special for her. It is under new management and they are making a lot of improvements to the facility. I hope they are able to bring this beautiful mansion feel back to it's original glory. I love the atmosphere, but it really could be amazing.
My mom was moved in on a Monday, on Tuesday I wasn’t there. On Wednesday at 11:30 AM she had a doctors appointment. I called in the morning prior to picking her up. I was in her room at 10:30 and was appalled at her condition, she wasn’t ready, she smelled like a Port-O-Potty. The room reeked of urine. She wasn’t taken care of for 3 days. She told me she wanted to slit her wrists and die. I got her out of there. My car smelled like urine. She went to the doctors we explained what happened. After doctors appointment I picked up her medicine and she didn’t go back. My mother is almost 94 years…

My Mother lived at Woodcliffe Manor's Dementia Unit for about 7 yrs. Then in 2010, we placed my Mother in Law there after she had several strokes and congestive heart failure. Woodcliffe isn't perfect but they do try to be kind and helpful to both the resident and the family. They have gone through several cooks in recent years so meals are constantly changing. We have friends who have needed to provide housing for their parents and the problems that Woodcliffe Manor experiences such as staff turn over and confusion about care are unfortunately typical of Personal Care Homes. Overall, we've been pleased with Woodcliffe Manor.
My sister moved to Woodcliffe Manor. It was very homey and large, but I think they were slightly understaffed because when you needed somebody, you can't find anyone. The rooms were a good size and fine. The dining room was fine, and meals looked fine. It was in a good location. They decorated for the holidays, had a priest come in and do mass, did a rosary session, and did a lot of activities in the main living room area. That's where they seemed to congregate; not in their bedrooms.
Woodcliffe Manor has been operating on a provisional license for more than 3 years. They are providing substandard care and profiting at the expense of the elderly. Do not allow anyone you love to be admitted to this home.
I've had two family members live at Woodcliffe Manor. My Mother for seven years, ending in the Dementia Unit and my Mother in Law who still lives there. Both parents received excellent care. The facility is clean and well staffed. Yes, the building was at one time a private residence but major additions and upgrades have been done over the years. The kitchen recently did an upgrade and is comparable to an older restaurant. The food is all prepared there. There is a large turnover of staff which I suspect is common for this type of facility. A local MD visits along with hair stylists and a foot doctor. Three or four Hospice Agencies visit daily. The Provisional License has been for an unlocked door, a trash can without a lid and things like that, I understand that they also had to improve record keeping. This would be my only complaint with a total of 14 years of family care. They have misplaced a signed Advanced Care Document on three occasions for my family member. A new staff member is now in charge of documents and things seem better. They also keep residents to "end of life" which was a personal concern. We didn't want to be shopping for a new residence when our family members were near death. Overall, my wife and I have only very minor complaints and many, many positive experiences at this facility.
Woodcliffe Manor is hands down the best facility I could have chosen for my father. Sure the place is out of date but the care is wonderful. The staff knew my entire family by the first week. Sure the facility is on a provisional license but it doesn't show in the care and love they give. That was the most important part when choosing a home for him.
Woodcliffe Manor is on its third consecutive provisional license. The state allows four consecutive provisional licenses before their licenses is revoked. People need to be protected from homes on provisional licenses not referred to them.
