White Owl Manor

White Owl Manor in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania is the former personal care home building that was later repurposed to house an inpatient substance use treatment program. The site was closed as a licensed personal care home by state officials in 2011 after regulatory actions. In 2017 a group renovating the property obtained a state license to operate a residential drug and alcohol treatment facility there.

The treatment program established at the White Owl Manor property was described as a 50‑bed, gender‑segregated residential program that included a small medical detox unit and separate residential beds for men and women. Daily life was reported to include structured group programming and shared meals that were kept separate by gender, on‑site clinical oversight with a physician assistant leading detox services, multiple LPNs on staff, and an initial staffing complement of about 20 employees while renovations and licensing were completed.
