I just wanted to leave a review, expressing my gratitude towards The Gardens at Stevens and their staff. My father’s health has been declining and after many hospital stays, we knew it was time for him to enter a facility that could help meet his round the clock needs. I just wanted to leave a review, expressing my gratitude towards The Gardens at Stevens and their staff. My father’s health has been declining and after many hospital stays, we knew it was time for him to enter a facility that could help meet his round the clock needs. I toured several places and felt anxious as I couldn’t find the right one. I then stumbled upon the Gardens at Stevens and got a nice tour from Mary Ellen, who was so kind and explained everything so thoroughly and made me feel comfortable. Within 24 hours, my dad was able to move in. It was an emotional time for Dad and I, as I was his only caretaker for so long. I cannot express enough that the staff showed so much love that it made the transition so much easier. It didn’t take long until Dad adjusted to his new environment and started laughing and making new friends. He loves the food there too which is a plus. I will admit he is not an easy person to take care of, so I am very impressed with how the staff knows how to take care of and connect with all patients with different personalities and needs. I am still learning all of the staff’s names, but Shelby was the first person who welcomed us on move-in day. I will never forget when she put her hand on mine and said don’t worry you can just be his daughter now we will take care of him. Sue has gone out of her way to buy Ice cream just to make my dad smile. Same with Holly, always going above and beyond. Two gentlemen caregivers who Both share the name Chris, have the most upbeat personalities, and are always smiling and making jokes with my dad, lifting his spirits. The social worker named Eve is really cool and down to earth, she has helped me through a lot during this transition as well. As I am still learning everybody’s names, I can say every single Caregiver and nurse has made an impression and I give them all a thumbs up. I know this is a long review, but in case another person out there like me who was anxious about placing their father, whether it’s for skilled care, personal care or physical therapy, you can rest assure they will be taken care of here. Thanks!

My mother just recently passed on at this facility. Although she could be a handful at times do to severe Dementia. The staff was very caring and compassionate. Any situation that occurred i was promptly notified. The day she passed there wasn't a dry eye in the house. And the sympathy was truly felt by myself and family❤️

Everything has been great !

I recently had the opportunity to tour The Gardens at Stevens, and I came away with a really positive impression. The facility was clean, welcoming, and had a calm, comfortable atmosphere. The staff I encountered were friendly and seemed genuinely engaged with the residents. I especially want to recognize, Mary Ellen. She was absolutely wonderful during the tour, very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She took her time explaining everything, answered all of my questions, and made me feel at ease throughout the visit. You can tell she truly cares about the residents and their families. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would feel confident recommending The Gardens at Stevens to anyone looking for quality care in a supportive environment.

Mary Ellen (Admissions Director) was easy to work with and was very accommodating with questions regarding open beds for MAday1 patients. Thank you. I do appreciate you Mary Ellen

I had the opportunity to visit The Gardens at Stevens and spend some time interacting with both staff and residents. The team was kind, attentive, and clearly committed to supporting those in their care. It was great to see residents engaged in activities and staying connected throughout the day. They also offer a range of services from personal care through skilled nursing, which can be helpful for families looking for different levels of support in one place.

Mary Ellen, Eve, Jen, and the entire nursing staff truly go above and beyond every single day. Their compassion, patience, and attention to detail make such a difference—not just in providing excellent care, but in creating a comforting and uplifting environment. They treat everyone with dignity and kindness, and it’s clear that they truly love what they do. It’s so reassuring to know that residents are in such capable and caring hands. The teamwork, professionalism, and positive energy of the staff really stand out. I’m incredibly grateful for everything they do and would highly recommend The Garden at Stevens to anyone looking for a place where people are genuinely cared for like family.

My mother was placed there for rehab after a stroke. We were told she would be evaluated for therapy the day after she arrived. It was obvious when we arrived there was not sufficient staff. The place was dirty and smelled strong of urine. The evaluation was moved out to the next day, then again to the next! My mom laid for almost 4 days! I feel like the aides on the floor did the best they could, but administration should have been honest about how long it was going to be for her to be evaluated and the fact they didn't have enough staff. My sister and I were with her on Day 6 when she passed out. We called for help and no one came which was typical. If we had not been there, my mom would probably not be here! Please check out this place before taking a loved one there. If I could rate them honestly it would be a minus 10! Just want to add.... due to their negligence, my mother developed blood clots and died on Dec 4th. We were told by Penn State Health, before she was sent to Rehab, that she would make a full recovery!! After I did the original review I did get a call from the Administration...they told me they would get back to me and of course, they never did!! I hope nobody ever has to go through what my family did!
