This place is deplorable!! It’s run down, the food served is horrible, certain staff members are unprofessional, administrators have turned over 3x in the 2 years my aunt has been there. My aunt refuses to move because she is used to being there. I do not want to progress her dementia so I agreed to give this facility one more chance. The owners and shareholders of this place should be ashamed of themselves. Paying over 4k a month to live in a place that we cannot even guarantee all of her clothes can be laundered correctly or her apartment can be cleaned. It should be shut down and they…

Heartbreaking Neglect – Please Think Twice Before Choosing Springfield Senior Living I am sharing this review to warn other families. My grandmother has been a resident at Springfield Senior Living in Wyndmoor, PA, and what we’ve experienced has been devastating. On two separate occasions my grandmother fell from her bed and was left on the floor for hours without help — the first time for over nine hours, the second time for about five hours until my brother arrived and alerted staff. In the second incident, the nurse failed to raise the bed’s guard rail, a basic safety measure, which likely contributed to her fall. Even worse, that same nurse was caught on our in-room camera drinking from a bottle of apple juice and then feeding it directly to my grandmother — an unhygienic and completely unacceptable practice. These events, all caught on video, showed us a pattern of neglect and lack of proper care. We trusted that the facility’s promise of 24-hour monitoring and emergency response meant our loved one would be safe. Sadly, that has not been the case. For anyone considering Springfield Senior Living for their loved one, I urge you to look elsewhere. No family should have to worry that their parent or grandparent will be ignored after a fall or treated without basic dignity.
This facility is unfit to provide care and should be subject to investigation.
Their lack of care and accountability makes this facility unacceptable
I am submitting this review to document the ongoing neglect and mistreatment my grandmother has experienced at this facility. I would never recommend this facility to anyone looking to place their loved one in safe and compassionate care. My grandmother has been mistreated on countless occasions, and the neglect we have witnessed is heartbreaking. There have been multiple nights where she was left unchecked for hours at a time. On several occasions, we’ve heard her crying out through the camera for help after rolling over, with no staff responding. Families place their trust in nursing homes with the expectation that their loved ones will be treated with dignity, respect, and basic care. Unfortunately, this has not been the case here. We have brought concerns and issues to staff multiple times, yet the problems have continued without meaningful change. It is devastating to see a kind, compassionate amazing woman, someone who would go above and beyond for a stranger treated so poorly in her most vulnerable years. No one should ever have to endure this type of neglect. If caring for residents is “too hard,” then staff should not choose this line of work. These incidents demonstrate a clear failure to provide the most basic standard of care required in a licensed nursing facility. This facility has failed our family, we believe this facility should be thoroughly investigated , held accountable, and subject to appropriate corrective actions, up to and including closure. No family should be forced to endure the pain of seeing a loved one treated in such an inhumane and negligent manner. For these reasons, I strongly advise against entrusting your loved one to this facility.
The price is what drives you to this facility. You also get a pretty good sales talk from the marketing director. The facility director is good and caring as is the wellness staff and some of the attendants. Unfortunately, some of the attendants are just warm bodies taking up space, especially on the 3rd floor. The facility is severely understaffed which may account for the disengaged staffers you will encounter. I blame the owners more so than they staff. It wouldn't take much to make sure the residents rooms are clean and don't smell. I routinely clean my father's room. I did it when he was in independent living and I almost need to bring my own cleaning supplies now that he is in memory care. Maintenance is a joke. There is an elevator that has been out of order for at least a month!! One New Years Eve, the power went out....only there, nowhere else in the neighborhood. They had to bring in generators and they called some family members to come get a few residents.
What I appreciated the most was the affordable cost of care. I wish they paid more attention to hygiene. But the staff is great at calming the residents down during meltdowns.
Lobby is clean. Other common areas have a distinct smell. Elevators are dirty and smell. Trash from residents room not regularly emptied. Can find bags of trash put out by residents. Apartments get a wipe/swipe. Trash cans in rooms missing trash bags. Trash with soiled material like depends and liners left in room. Soiled clothes from fecal incontinence not placed in plastic bags. Quality of care is Inconsistent and dependent on individual. Very understaffed. 1 care giver per floor!!! Plus 1 med tech. My mom has unfortunate incontinence issues. They do not round regularly and it can take 45 plus minutes for someone to come. So if you can't wait you're out of luck. Staff is not visible on the floors. They seem to congregate on the first floor or somewhere 5. Admin a 4 they listen to concerns. Some resolved easily and others you get an excuse. They are frequently out of basic things like condiments, sugar, milk. They do not offer multiple options so if you can't chew or easily digest what is offered you're out of luck. Food is also regularly cold. Not cooked at order or plated at the meal. Done ahead and sitting out. Cost is a good price but the quality of what you get is poor and that is just a reflection of cost. You get what you pay for. Unfortunately our budget is tight. While this is affordable, the services you get on paper seem great but the quality of what you are getting is poor. The building is old and the grounds are old. The exterior needs a lot of work. There is insufficient lighting in the parking areas so leaving when it is dark is unsafe. The parking area is limited and has many potholes. My parents got a bigger room with lots of sunlight which they didn't have. There are many things that would be more acceptable if the care was better. When you know your parents are safe and watched over you can overlook other things. The trade off of dealing with staff that is sparse and generally less caring than where they were has been a struggle. While there are some generally good staff, it's hard to deal with the less caring staff. This facility was also set up for independent living. So the configuration of things like bathroom and kitchenette are difficult to navigate. Had we known the extent of the issues we wouldn't have been surprised. More like buyer be aware. They consider 1 aide per floor to be adequate. There are probably 20 apartments on the floor. So definitely staffed more for independent living than for assisted living. Unfortunately we've experienced the drive of the salesperson to get you to move, saying things that turned out not to be true. And we were pretty clear about my mom's needs and that my dad was also deteriorating.
