My mother spent over 2 weeks at the facility in March/April of 2026. I visited with her every single day, so I really got to know much of the staff and see their interactions with not only my mother, but with many of the residents while being there. The staff is a wonderful group of people that truly care about their residents. I could see every day that they do their very best to make their residents as comfortable as possible (even the difficult ones). At the same time, they are committed to improving the condition of their patients for when they leave the facility. I'm glad my mother was…

So basically you get what you pay for. I was planning on taking there FREE paid CNA class which was supposed to start the 16th but because there wasn’t enough people to start the class they postponed it till June 2nd or 9th. I had already given my other job my 2 weeks notice and was prepared to take this class NOT because a hospitality aid which unfortunately I had to do because they didn’t start class on time. From what I see and heard this place has a revolving door of CNA’s. Some of the staff you meet her are very nice. Helen and Melanie were the only 2 from management that I meant and…
So basically you get what you pay for. Helen and Melanie were the only 2 from management that I meant and they are very nice and professional individuals. The CNA’s on 2nd floor are very nice except for one that also was working 2nd shift that day. This place is like high school. They’re are clicks and if you’re not kool they talk about you around the corner like you don’t hear them. A hospitality aid is not a CNA therefore cannot help with CNA duties but I guess they don’t understand that. Some of the aide ignore the patients and let them sit in their own urine and defecation for some times 45 minutes to one hour. I have seen CNA’s yell at residence while they are begging and pleading for help. Today I walked into work as usual and was making bed and removing trays when a women speaking to the charge nurse asked me my name and when I replied she introduced her self to me as well. I told her it was nice to meet her and carried on. As I was walking away she said gloves were Not aloud in the hall ways so I removed them And went to the next room with a cna to remove the trash and dirty laundry. No sooner then 10 minutes Ms Melanie came in there Asking to speak with my and my Coworker. We finished up the resident that we were taking care of and headed down stairs where basically I got fired. Miss Melanie fired me for something that she didn’t see But it was coming from upper management. The women up stairs who introduced her self to me as Tamara told miss Melanie to fire me because I was rude to her. When I explained to Miss Melanie, what had happened she said it wasn’t her decision and she couldn’t override it. I then asked to speak to Tamara To try and see where this miscommunication was and she didn’t want to speak to me. What happened to the days of being able to face your accuser? I wasn’t rude I was in a hury and if she thinks I was rude well idk what to say. She didn’t even give me the opportunity to explain myself or even apologize. Basically if you’re not kissing upper management’s ass you’re rude and get fired. No wonder they can’t keep CNA’s. Ohh and for the poor residence yea if you want your loved ones to sit in their own urine and defecation for an hour or get yelled at while they are getting and pleading for help by all means plz send your loved one here. This place is an absolute joke!
Amazing facility and great staff!! 100% recommend.
I have been at the facility for 10 years working. I enjoy the team and my job. The residents are my second family. Saber has done many things since I have been here to help update the facility. They have always provided me with the tools I need to do my job, and have always agreed when I ask for something when it comes to the residents, with no questions asked. Everything is not always 100 perfect, but we always strive to do our Best!
I called and asked for someone to call me back several times and no response, very rude
There was not enough staff,;unless you can afford it, you are forced to take a cheaper insurance. This insurance is reluctant for hospital care. The food is not always good; fish can be hard and dry. Say goodbye to your clothes; does not matter if they are labeled. They destroyed a winter coat.
I was a little skeptical about putting my mom in this nursing home/rehab center for a short stint of rehab but I must say, the staff was very nice. A few times she rang the bell for assistance and waited for awhile but I realize why. There were other residents that needed more attention than my mom did and they are short staffed. Anyway, my mom thought the food was great which was a plus! I feel like the PT was decent but could have been a little better in the strength training area.
If you’re looking for a clean, organized and welcoming facility for a loved one I highly recommend Slate Belt! The staff are very friendly, they will answer any questions you may have and I can tell, they really care for all their patients!
