The one aide, Jennifer M, continuously neglects residents. It’s very sad to watch.
Had a great experience in regards to the service with this location. My grandparents and I recently visited and we were extremely relieved with the professionalism and options provided from the staff.
Redstone is an amazing place! Redstone cares about their residents and staff. This has been such a positive experience! The staff here are very professional and supportive. I have learned so much. I am proud to be a part of it!
I would not recommend this facility to my worst enemy. About one month before my mom passed away, she fell and hit her head in the hallway of the assisted living unit. She was left lying on the floor, sobbing in pain, for over 20 minutes with a giant goose egg on the back of her head while I frantically tried to reach a nurse for help. As usual, the nurses’ phone line went directly to voicemail. Even the aide (who had an ‘inside’ line to the nurses’ station) could not find anyone who knew the whereabouts of the nurse. Several months earlier, when my mom was projectile vomiting every 2-3 minutes, the nurses’ line was also busy. I had to call an ambulance, but the paramedics were unable to enter the ‘secure’ facility for over five minutes because the phone extension posted for entry was (and remains) the terminally busy nurses’ station. My mom passed away at approximately 11:15 pm on October 1, 2024, but a nurse did not arrive for more than a half hour and did not officially pronounce my mother dead until 12:01 am on October 2nd. For well over a year, my family has consistently expressed concern about the inability to reach the nursing staff, the disconnect between the nursing staff and the aides, and the precarious practice of posting a phone number that is not manned for entry by emergency responders. Not a single thing has been corrected. In fact, I received no reply whatsoever in response to my letter to Redstone’s corporate offices regarding these issues, sent one month before my mom’s death. There are several kind, caring, and attentive nurses and aides at this facility, but they are truly the exception. I thank them immensely for their help, but the problems are systemic. I am comforted knowing that my mom is now at peace in heaven, but saddened that she had to endure her final years in virtual hell at Redstone Highlands before her death. In any event, I can never “unsee” the many disturbing things that I witnessed at the Murrysville facility. If you truly love your family member, avoid Redstone Highlands for their well-being and your own peace of mind. (If you are wondering why we allowed my mother to remain at Redstone Highlands … it is because they were contractually obligated to provide “benevolent care” to my mom if she outlived their own algorithm predicting her age of death, and calculating the substantial amount she was required to pay when she entered as an independent living resident approximately 17 years ago. She outlived their prediction and survived to the age of 101.)
I wouldn't trust them with my cats! Redstone only cares about money, period! If you think that your loved one will be in a top notch facility, you're wrong! The residents here are ignored! They do not get good hygiene if any. They wear soiled clothes, other people's clothes and are dressed wearing their clothing inside out or backwards! A resident had fallen and broke her hip. The charge nurse did NOT call an ambulance! The woman died as a result of the negligence. There is zero care here. No empathy whatsoever! I think that prisoners get better care! And for what the families pay, their loved ones should be treated like kings and queens. The latest news is that one of their care givers, Christina Ankney stole or actually ripped the woman's wedding rings right off of her fragile finger. I noticed that this woman who suffered from dementia, had filthy, greasy hair hanging in her eyes. It's beyond disturbing. Yet somehow they continue to get away with these atrocities! Please think before you place your loved ones here. Redstone is not what you should coonsider when you want the best care!
I toured Redstone Highlands Murrysville and it was a lovely facility. It's far more convenient than anywhere else, plus a couple of my loved one's friends live here and they love it. But everyone wants to move in, so the waitlist, especially for Memory Care, is months long.
I visited Redstone Highlands at Murrysville. I liked everything about what I saw there, I thought the apartments were nice, and the amenities were very nice. And I liked it overall. I looked at the two bedrooms. The layout was very nice, and the size was very good. I liked it. The few staffers that I met were very nice and everyone was very friendly. The girl that took me around was very nice, and to all of the staff in the dining room. I saw the beauty shop and the gift shop and all that stuff. Everybody I came in contact with was wonderful. The food looked good. I saw some people eating, and what they had on their plates looked nice. The gift shop was nice because they have nice little things to buy, so you didn't have to run out. If you need toothpaste or something like that, they have a nicely stocked gift shop. The outdoor space was probably the least accommodating. They do have balconies on each of the higher levels, and the lower level, which I looked at, had a little porch off the living room, the sliding doors. But as far as the other stuff outside, they didn't have a whole lot.
My Mom began to get more and more confused at home. Finding care givers in 2021 was no easy task. We needed help to care for her 24/7 so we looked into Redstone Highlands in Murrysville. It was the best decision we could have made. The staff is incredible; they are caring and loving and so patient!! Mom has been there now for 16 months and is currently in the memory care (Terrace) unit and we are all so relieved. She is taken care of by amazing people who are so gentle and patient with her. They are always in such uplifting moods, they even raise my spirits when I visit! There are many activities going on each day so she is kept as busy as she wants to be. There are areas to walk, both indoors and out, nourishing food and clean, well-maintained, attractive common areas to relax in. We could not have asked for more!!
