Providence Place was perfect for my Nana in the last chapter of her life. From the caring staff to the abundance of activities offered to the clean facilities, we couldn’t have asked for a better place for her to call home!

This particular Providence Place is an extremely toxic, hostile and disgusting place to work at.

So my friend mim is in the most expensive wing there she pays for 2 hour incontinence checks and extra cares… her room is disgusting covered in pee stains all over the carpets. Considering she pays for 2 hour changes and is bound to a wheel chair this is alarming. She says they changed her maybe twice a day and once while she’s asleep I’m sorry but 3 times in 24 hours is not 2 hour changes… her carpet is stained and reaks off pee maybe once ever 6 months they clean it and the next day there’s already 2 new stains after they clean the carpet and unfortunately after a while the smell doesn’t go…

So my friend mim is in the most expensive wing there she pays for 2 hour incontinence checks and extra cares… her room is disgusting covered in pee stains all over the carpets. Considering she pays for 2 hour changes and is bound to a wheel chair this is alarming. She says they changed her maybe twice a day and once while she’s asleep I’m sorry but 3 times in 24 hours is not 2 hour changes… her carpet is stained and reaks off pee maybe once ever 6 months they clean it and the next day there’s already 2 new stains after they clean the carpet and unfortunately after a while the smell doesn’t go away anymore.. she says it because they only change her as often as they do no matter how much she asks or begs she says they’re pretty good girl they’re just understaffed… so they all tell her that while they don’t change her? I don’t get it … also when the stand her up the puddle of her own waist she’s been literally rotting her skin in all day always spills directly on the carpet . They aren’t even bathing her before bed she said they just put a new diaper on her don’t even wipe her or put any medicine on her really. She’s supposed to at least take two baths a week but it’s more like one every other week if she complains enough… she pays the most u possibly can and said multiple nurses aids were fired for complaining about not being aloud to help her enough and asking constantly for assistance because to change her is a two person job they aren’t aloud to alone for what ever reason … i don’t get it but she pays over 3k a month she says and the worst of it is her thighs are covered with soar like things I’d call it rotting off skin idk it just giant spots of exposed urine soaked bloody skin peeled off spots like lots of layers deep it makes me very sad.

If your loved one is in ECN run!!!!! ECN is what they called it but it’s extra care needs … ECN mean extremely c-word/clingy and needy unit they do not only say this privately they will say it right in-front of your mom or what ever others resident that can’t speak or that isn’t believed and if they believe your parent thinks anything bad they send them there and tell people they’re having hallucination … at least that is what I was told by the only other 2 staff members who said it in a way meaner way degrading mean ways … (if they last they dont care in the building they say if their kids cared they’d pay more)… it’s in fact the place they send people once they become vegetables sometimes They mistreat people they warn the staff when people are coming and any other time which is what happened when I started so the assumption for me is that we did the things we did properly if your loved one can’t speak they’re very much neglected and mistreated it’s horrible and sad I had to leave my job because a woman’s skin was literally so soaked in urine it was pealing off I cried about it daily and complained to who I was supposed to until I asked what to do next if everyone refuses to help her … I even explained to my next shift how I cleaned her and they said f no we aren’t doing that. they didn’t fire me but they asked me to not come back for performance based info but my performance review was like 2 days before and every area said I was excelling expectations. It was after this they asked if I had any concerns to address…I asked who I can report these things to that I think are very abusive because who I was told to tell is part of the abuse n it just got worse and a bad work environment after. Not only that they actively brag about not giving meds(even after I asked who to tell) and about keeping them my personal med tech would brag daily about lying to residents and telling them they got there meds saying see if they think they got it they aren’t in as much pain. They told me at first that they (my med tech) would be told if they give them meds everyday but I addressed it to the morning staff and they said we give them when they ask… mine did not she bragged about not giving them regularly and said it was her job but according to the other shift its not that’s a job for a doctor and you should allow them what they’re prescribed … I’m no doctor but it sounds horrible and tons of residence complained it’s cruel and gross they lie and skimp so badly that we didn’t have cleaning supplies or even hand soap in our personal bathrooms and my med tech told me to use(steal) the residents it’s horrible and anyone who cares for them is legally mandated to report these abuses but when we do they fire or ask us not to come back and never call… most people there can’t speak and it people get fired a lot I didn’t get it at first but it’s bad bad people die of weird infection n people are regularly mis medicated if your loved one can’t speak please send them to a hospital not here it’s horrific and sad and the way the staff talks about your family is disgust disturbing and humiliating please keep your parents safe

I gave the facility 3 stars because the food leaves a lot to be desired. Example easter dinner was ham, turkey, pierogi, cranberry sauce etc.....really was this a combo of thanksgiving and Easter??? Come on, but you can raise the rent $300 month!!!!! these residents are not all demented, get a chef that can plan well balance meals. I understand that everything is costing more and more every day but if y'all had the properly educated staff, they can serve appetizing meals.....REMEMBER THIS IS THEIR HOME...YOU SERVE THEM SO PLEASE LISTEN!

THEY HAVE BEDBUGS AND ARE COVERING IT UP! My aunt is a resident there and she complained MULTIPLE times and was NOT taken serious. Now the bedbugs have spread! THEY HAVE BEDBUGS!

Great staff and safe place for my Mom in the Connections Unit. She was well taken care of, meals were delicious and the most caring staff anyone could ask for!

They took amazing care of my nana. You could tell they all genuinely cared about the residents. Everyone is friendly the staff is very patient as well. Best assisted living facility in the area!
