I love the Willows! Everyone I interacted with provided exceptional service and support. Their mission and goals are superb and really stand out compared to other options.

We were doing short-term care. We have used the Willows three times in the last year and a half. The first time we actually had meetings with on call dr and staff. Putting everyone on the same page. But the truth is, I still had to call almost every day and talk to several different people to get them to follow through on things like pain medicine. My mother-in-law Would request In the middle of the night and the nurse would come in angry (this happened on several occasions) and did not give her her medication. She was allowed to have the medication so there was no reason for her to not give it to her This last visit was the worst-She was on a heart, healthy diet and gained 30 pounds the wounds on her leg legs look like sores. They were not being treated twice a day like they were supposed to be. We asked them repeatedly to wrap her legs every day because she had significant water weight. They would do it for about a day or two, and then that was it She came out of this nursing home in way worse shape. Her arch had fallen on her foot gaining 30 pounds already needing a hip replacement was not the answer. Honestly, the only reason we used this place was because it was close to her family. We could see her more often. Not worth it. Each experience got worse and worse. I would not recommend this place. Oh and the food was not good to boot.

My mom was at The Willows for rehab from a fall. She has late stage dementia and suffered from dilerium during her stay. The nurses were rude, and unprofessional when my mom would refuse her meds. They would leave the room and never return. I had to go to the front desk and ask for a nurse to bring them so I can give them to her. The aides were exceptional! They always had kind words and tricks of the trade to get my mom to respond with little to no fuss. Kudos to Cemone, Andrea, Jayla, Troy, and Peter. Thank you for all your help.🥰

Not only is this place comfortable for my gram to heal up after her fall...they are nature friendly! Finch feeders, beautiful pollinators planted everywhere...its gorgeous 😍! Thank you from someone who helps rescue wild birds...every feeder makes a difference ❤️

The staff is pretty good and the facility seems to be kept well. However, the stench of urine that seems to hang in the building and hvac system is awful. I took to applying Vicks to my nose before going to visit because the smell was so strong. Turning on the air made me realize that it must also be in the ventilation system.

Great care for several of my family members! Caring staff!

My my, how far UPMC has fallen. I've avoided this for a week, however, if my review helps change things at this facility, then I welcome the change. I've known the staffing issue to have been severe here in my last 3 years of visits, as it is for most of UPMC as they are going downhill rather fast imo, but I've seen such catty, toxic, and disgusting behavior from persons that call themselves caregivers and staff of this place. I've overheard or witnessed countless arguments among staff, gossip about other employees (they were even gossiping about a fellow employee's chronic illness, as if they did not believe it to be real from the tone on one occasion, and whoever the person is who works there with cancer I hope you beat it!), and even outright chewing out of fellow employees DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. WITH VISITORS AND PATIENTS THERE, LISTENING!!! Do you know how off putting it is to walk into a business and witness rudeness? I've left restaurants without ordering for things of this nature, and you want ME to trust YOU AT THE WILLOWS with my father's care once he needs a home, AFTER WATCHING THIS OCCUR WHILE VISITING FAMILY. Abhorrent. Disgusting. Vile. & Cruel to subject seniors and your fellow co-workers for that matter to this type of environment. I don't care if it was directed at my friend or not. You handle your problems like adults, ESPECIALLY SO when you have a captive audience. That MEANS go handle your disagreements small or otherwise behind a closed door or where there is reasonable expectation of privacy. Not in a screaming match in a public space... It is shameful that I should have to say that in a review about grown adults. This is a huge PR problem for them, an indicator of the state of UPMC, and above all, an addition to the stereotype that healthcare is toxic. Perhaps the staff need emotional intelligence training or something, but the screaming match I overheard last week will ensure I place my father somewhere else, probably not even in this state. Oh and on multiple occasions aids complained of not having the right supplies or equipment to serve meals. I know things happen, but you don't even have enough spoons for everyone and all the dishes to be served without touching them with your (albeit gloved) hands???

My mother was moved to The Willows four weeks ago from another care center. Our encounter so far has been wonderful. Every staff member you come into contact with,no matter where you are in that facility, is courteous and kind. Mom is very well cared for. The staff knew her name the very first day. When I was in her room putting up her Christmas tree, I could hear staff members engaging with other residents outside of the room in such a kind and positive way. Even though she is late state Alzheimer’s and her abilities are extremely limited, I still received a call from the activities director ask about her prior interests in her life so that they could try to engage her as much as possible. It truly is a blessing that we found our way here!
