Very impressed with the facility, it was exceptionally clean and welcoming. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful, and the rehab team was amazing! Lisa, the facility administrator, was especially attentive and clearly knows her residents well. You can tell there is a genuine commitment to the people they care for. Great experience overall!
Nurse T is so sweet and her aide is very kind. I had a great visit with my Mom today as a new resident for rehab services. She did great eating her meal for me today. We hope to see her getting stronger with every day.
I absolutely would give this place no stars if it was an option. The most unpleasant and unprofessional people I have ever met in the 7 years of caring for my father. Absolutely deplorable conditions in that facility. Reeks of urine in every hall you turn. Nursing staff who are very unprofessional. Playing loud rap music at there nurses carts. You confront them on an issue and they respond with no professional explanation. Social worker was completely useless to me and my dad. He was sent there for a short term rehabilitation to get back on his feet after a lengthy hospital stay. Only local…
Only local facility for miles who had on center dialysis available. I saw very very little improvement in his physical therapy. He almost fell coming out of my car coming home. When I got there for discharge nobody was around. My father has wounds on his hands from an infection that happened at the hospital. They were all unwrapped and he was getting into the cuts. There was no nurse was to be seen when I found someone the nurse had a very cold demeanor no bedside manner whatsoever. When I asked for someone to bring him out to my car by wheelchair she was saying there was nobody available and that I would have to do it myself with 3 heavy bags of clothing and them knowing he is a severe fall risk. I finally was able to get him wheeled down by someone. They threw a blue folder at my dad and sent us on are way. I get in my car and see a stack of handwritten prescriptions. Go to the pharmacy, none of them are filled out correctly with signatures and a narcotic was written by a physician assistant. I had to call back and get all of that fixed. At that time they were being very unprofessional about that and hung up immediately on me like I was causing an issue in there day. Home-care was all written wrong. No proper orders in place Home care came out and said we can’t do anything legally but dry bandage because we have no orders mind you these are oozing infected blister like wounds. Home-care can’t order me any medical supplies because there is no proper medical order to take care of these wounds. No training was provided to me or my family on how to do the wound care. Family doctors cannot write me anything because they are not the discharging physician. When I call and address these issues with the so called “supervisor” of the floor he was on she starts screaming at me in a unprofessional tone. Calling me a liar, saying that the orders are done right I could not even get one word out to this so called supervisor. She was telling me to stop talking and I asked her to stop screaming at me and she gets even louder and hangs up. Very very unprofessional. My father just got home last week out of near 7 weeks between rehab and hospital stays. These people have no compassion whatsoever and I wouldn’t even recommend this place to a rock that’s how bad it is. They have done nothing to help just have caused more stress. I shouldn’t have to keep calling and fighting around to get something done that should have been done right the first time. Please save yourself the headache and send your loved one elsewhere!!
Edit: This took me a while to write this because I wasn’t sure if I was going to post anything but I think it’s important for other people to be aware. Please do not put your loved ones here. My mom was here and she hated it. They did not treat her well and I was constantly dealing with management INCLUDING ADMINISTRATION. They lost her stuff to the point where she didn’t have anything until I went to see her months later because I lived out of town and realized all the stuff we had moved there was not there and then THEY initially tried blaming the moving company when they later found it. I lived out of town and had a really hard time communicating with her. I tried talking to her for months calling multiple times a day until I came in one day and finally put my foot down and threatened to call state because the treatment. Towards her last days she would say she didn’t feel well and I would tell the staff and they kept saying she was fine and didn’t send her out. She ended up going into respiratory failure and died for one of the same reasons why she was saying she wasn’t feeling well. Please please do your research.
The facility is very nice the staff could be supported better by addition of staff numbers in nursing care. Phone systems have caused frustration for incoming calls and outside communication soon to be resolved as a improvement effort. The facility has many good features for care of the residents and credit goes to all hardworking members .
my mother seems very pleased.During my visit she was given multiple visits from different nurses.Everybody kind.
I was there for rehab myself and they got me back on my feet. Now after recommending it to my sister-inlaw. She has gone there too. But nobody else had a bed for her!
I want to give a special shoutout to Holly, the activities coordinator. She helps me stay in touch with my dad from across the country and is always going the extra mile to make sure he feels cared for. I don't know what I would do without her. Having a loved one be in long term care is always hard, especially from far away. Holly is consistently available, reliable, and cares very much about keeping the residents engaged and as happy as possible through tough circumstances. She deserves all of the recognition for being the very best. Parkhouse and my dad are so very lucky to have her.
