This place is very similar to Spring Creek in Harrisburg. Filthy, fruit flies everywhere, rooms are disgusting and outdated, no shower in rooms, only in common area for all just to shower 2 times a week. Dining room was flooded by tons of fruit flies, especially by fridge and sink area. I went to visit a family friend, he freaked if urine, pants were saturated with urine, with a tab brief on. Don't let the outside of the building fool you, this place is God awful. Don't let the outside of the building fool you, this place is God awful. Witnessed a resident in hallway waiting on elevator with no brief on, and could see his bare behind and had a chuck pad covering penis. It gives mental hospital vibes, not rehab, or long term. I left there in pure disgust, feeling sorry for every resident stuck there. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy, absolutely filthy, and needs cleaned, sanitized and a total remodel on the inside. Prayers for the ones stuck there, or reasons like insurance, what a shame.

This place is about the worst there is. Don’t put anyone you really love and care about in this place. My Mom was there for over a year. She has Alzheimer’s. They didn’t do anything to help her. I frequently walked in to find that she had soiled herself and no one noticed. The clincher was her getting a severe UTI and having to be taken to the hospital. I had been requesting a urinalysis be done for over 3 weeks to check for UTI. But she had to be in bad shape before they finally did one only to confirm she did in fact have a UTI. Her BP dropped to 70/40, she had a bed sore and rash all over…

Her BP dropped to 70/40, she had a bed sore and rash all over her body. I can’t even go into all the bad things my Mom had to deal with at this place. 5 days before she went to hospital, her status had majorly changed, she was not eating, drinking and she was sleeping all the time. No one called me to tell me this. Thankfully with the help of hospital social worker, I was able to get her moved! Don’t even bother to add your canned response about how much you care and strive to change because under current ownership and management, nothing will change!

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW AS IT WILL NOT TURN OUT AS YOU THINK… My wife was admitted to Northern Dauphin Nursing & Rehab in April, 2025, due to complications with Huntington’s Disease, an incurable neurological condition that resulted in her falling frequently & unable to come home. A hospital social worker found Northern Dauphin, which was the only place in a seven-county area that would take my insurance, had bed space & would accept an HD patient. My sister & I visited & just looked @ each other disappointed. Our point of reference is Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, which is shinier and bigger and offers many more services but had no bed space. We had to make a quick decision & had no choice. The only one we had turned out to be a good choice. The level of care my wife received was exceptional. Health care nursing in general is dominated by short staffing. Northern Dauphin’s nursing staff - and staff, in general - was caring & compassionate. They did the best they could with what they had in a difficult situation (HD is ugly) and what they did was more than satisfactory. They treated my wife so lovingly, even though she had been rendered unable to care for herself in any way. It is a job I could not do and cannot do and I’m glad they can and will. I have friends whose relatives in the area didn’t speak highly of Northern Dauphin. My guess is it’s what they’ve heard but maybe never witnessed firsthand. Aesthetically, it is not a palace. But it is clean in all forms of cleanliness and, as my pastor said, “Even people at Masonic Village complain about the meals.” If you are in the situation I was in & need a place to place a loved one, please visit Northern Dauphin. What matters isn’t the way it looks from the outside but the way it cares on the inside.

My mother in her 90’s was transported there from osteo on a Friday for rehab, she laid in bed for over a week rehab was in only once to sit her up, a family member was always there as much as we could be , nobody would tell you anything we didn’t even know if she was getting her reg medication, she was in so much pain if you wanted a pain med they expect you to ask every 8 hours, like she knew what time they gave it to her & it is their job they should be asking you, the doctor there called & wanted to give her medication that you give to ADHD patients pretty much knocks you out we don’t have to deal with you we said absolutely not!, They tried taking blood her hands swallowed up like a balloon, she started coughing so bad for 3 days it was hurting her ribs she couldn’t breath & their solution was to give her over the counter cough med but only if she ask for it, we ask for oxygen they put that on it kept falling off & the nurse snapped off & said it’s the smallest we have she ended up catching pneumonia , my sister who’s an EMT, had enough of that place she called 911 they transported her out of that place back to osteo, they got her breathing under control doesn’t need oxygen, got her swelling down & cleared up the pneumonia. she was there to get her mobility back in her feet for Rehab, I’m sorry but this place is far from being a rehab facility. last note the one day I arrived there during normal hours the door was locked I rang the buzzer 3 times the girl at the desk totally ignored me she had her face in her phone after 5 minutes standing there she finally opened the door inside she would not get up & help me at the machine for check in just kept yelling out the window for what I was supposed to do.

Giving this nursing home even A STAR is being generous. The roof outside has shingles breaking off, the wood work inside the building has damage and chipping away, there’s insects dead or alive flying around, the facility smells so foul it made me nauseous accompanied with a very sharp headache. Nurses/aides arguing with dementia patients just to demand an apology. Just let it go with them. They have dementia and have no idea. I didn’t even see a single hand sanitizer dispenser placed anywhere. I don’t know how that place is running. A total health hazard in my opinion. Do better, treat your patients with dignity, renovate your facility, remodel the rooms, and put hand sanitizer dispensers in every room.

Aides can be demeaning, nasty, lying or play favortism as I have seen and heard this for myself! They have complained about tasks such as wiping butts with disgust or complaing rather then do their job properly they are getting paid to do, if they don't like that part of it, find another job! As well as heard aides complaining all the time they have so much to do so they can get out of working or so they can run to the breakroom or out for a cigarette! Nurses as well that have lied to my face and nasty to me not to mention the patients! The food is horrible, lots of lunchmeat or pb & j sandwichs or food the patients ask "what is it"! Also an AIDE is giving away a patients food to another patient, without even asking when the given patient is getting fatter!!! They bring snacks and ice around to the patients and miss some people on purpose! Talk about favoritism or rights they should not be allowed to do!!! This is not a good place for your loved one, maybe better then some nursing homes, but not by much! Overpriced for the cost!

If 0 stars was an option.. I would select it. You've got staff there picking on the residents, blaming other staff members for mistakes, and arguing amongst each other just to name a few. Save the time, go to Messiah or Country Meadows instead, at least the staff care there.

My mom has been there for a little over 2 years. She’s very happy. She is getting bathed regularly. They keep us well informed . If I had one complaint it would be housekeeping can kick up their game a few notches. On the daily they empty trash sweep and mop but maybe a more thorough cleaning more often. Often dust and dead bugs on window sills, cobwebs and dried food on the floor from one week to the next.
