My mother was a memory care resident at Maple Shade Meadows for two years until she passed this spring. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the care she received. She was not a number...she was family, which was quite evident when each staff member went to say their goodbyes to her with tears in their eyes as she laid in a comatose actively dying. Even before she lost consciousness, they all visited, and she received the most loving care. I found this to be true all during her stay there. The day before my mother passed, I sat vigil with my mom for 14 hours. I didn't even ask for anything, and a cart of numerous snacks and drinks arrived for me as well as a comfy lounge chair in the event I wanted to stay the night. The staff was friendly and would engage in conversation with me telling me stories about their special moments with my mom. In addition, Family Pillars hospice was top notch as well. Our family always felt well supported as my mom declined, and my mom was always well cared for. I wish I knew about them four years before. I have to say Maple Shade Meadows was her home, and the staff loved her like family. I am so happy she took her last breath there. Highly recommend! I also want to point out that staff was regularly rotated between assisted living and memory care, so everybody knew her and also the staff was less apt to be burnt out that way. It made a lot of difference to feel confident about their skills especially handling a dementia patient. I also found no issues with communication. I believe it is the family's responsibility to be an advocate for their loved one in care. I, being my mom's guardian, always asked questions, and I was always given a solid report. At times, I didn't even need to ask. If there was anything of concern, they were always in immediate communication with me. They are very friendly people there who care a lot!
We weren’t sure if my father was able to stay in his own home so we toured Maple Shade and we knew it was the right choice once entering the building. The staff was so welcoming and considerate of my father’s disabilities. The residents all seemed to be enjoying the environment as it was a family atmosphere. Very warm and cozy. The admissions director put our families needs at top priority. She went out of her way to accommodate our family on her off time to make sure dad was taken care of. Absolutely suggest Maple Shade Meadows.
The staff on the floor are great, but you can see that they are exhausted and mentally not there. We’ve visited many times and have heard the assistant administrator degrading and yelling at staff members. We have heard from many staff members that working at the facility isn’t the same anymore. The manager positions are given to anybody who’s friends with the administrator and she barely leaves her office now. The facility was very different 2 years ago when we first moved my mom in. It’s really sad!
On the outside facility is very nice. But on the inside there are multiple things that seem to get "forgotten about" for instance the water leak spots on the ceiling that are just spray painted over and not replaced or fixed, the stained carpet on the walls and hallways. And some of the management are not very nice to the workers I've heard multiple staff upon visiting my mother talking about how Upper management are not very nice to them and I have personally seem the turnover with staff.
My Mother Carol spent the last year of her life at Maple Shade and from day one to the last every person, every staff member was the best. My brother and I never worried about her care. Kind. Caring. Dedicated. Thank you so much with all my heart.
I have seen many assisted living facilities and when you walk in the door to Maple Shade Meadows you can just feel the vibe of kindness. There is a large staff that is on top of everything. I’m relieved Mom my is an a great and safe place. Highly recommend it.
I work for a home care agency and On the outside it looks nice but on the inside there's multiple ceiling tiles with water marks on them the memory court yard looks so bad with broken benches dead over grown planters. The residents pay over 5 thousand dollars to live there. What a shame
I visit MapleShade from time to time for mutual clients, never had a bad experience. It’s a welcoming environment. The med aides are always helpful when speaking about our mutual clients. Every time I go there are always so many residents out and about and participating in activities. There’s often live entertainment.
