I am here to say how disappointed I am in the retirement community my grandfather chose for him and my Nana. He bought one of the single homes and they treat my grandmother like she is a nuisance. My nanny is 97 yrs old (very independent ) still mobile and active and they almost every other week torment my mother to get my grandmother to leave her own home when she wants to go peacefully there. Talk about emotional (elder) abuse. The latest is they removed her from her dinner table in the dining room because the other women thought she was annoying. Her presence matters too. Maybe two things…
Maybe two things she has left in her life she enjoys and you take away her dining experience. Really? As far as the social worker named (Diane)don’t you ever assume my grandmother doesn’t remember what you say to her because she in fact does! Your comments are invalid the last few months and I honestly think you should pick a different profession because you are in no way shape or form professional. If I could give anyone advice, please do not allow your loved one to go to this assisted living facility. They are cruel and they will bully you. They actually want my grandmother gone so they can sell the house. (Part of the contract) This has been going on for too long now. I want to share my family’s story in hopes they will not do this to someone else’s grandparents and believe me if my grandfather were here, the last thing you would be doing is getting away with this nonsense. Do better and please reevaluate your staff.
My grandma Martha Fisher moved here a few months ago and we absolutely love it! She had wonderful experiences so far. Foods are great, people are so friendly and welcoming.
There was no one at the front desk at 6pm on the Shepherd's Way side. There's no signs, no bell to ding for service, nothing. I had to look around the lobby & found a label making machine. All I did was follow the prompts on the screen, not show ID & bam - a "visitor" label was printed. I could have came in strapped with dynamite and no one would have stopped me. BIG BIG BIG SECURITY RISK. Do your loved ones feel safe knowing that a madman can enter the building at any time & do as they wish??
Saturday January 14th, 2023 I've picked up their chef David as an uber passenger & he's a sweetheart! He'll cook you gluten free food at request. Give this guy a raise!
This is a very nice place to be - Nice food
My father lived here for the last 10 months of his life. His stay was both in assisted living and skilled nursing. The staff was up-front about everything and very helpful in understanding costs, benefits and limitations to what they do. The nursing staff was generally wonderful. They took a great interest in my father and got to know him very well. My father considered some of them his friends. Communication about my father's condition and progress was excellent. They were usually acting on his behalf to resolve issues before I asked them to and when they did, they always let me know what was happening. Their skilled nursing facilities are the nicest that I have visited with semi-private rooms. Other facilities have two people per room separated by a curtain while there is a real wall between people in LCT. When the end neared for my father, the nurses were kind enough to let me know it was coming so my family could prepare and visitors from far away had time to visit. Having a family member need to stay in a nursing facility is never an ideal situation, but LCT made it as ideal and painless as possible. The worst thing that I can say is that some nursing staff is less than freindly. They do their job, but can be cold, but they are a minority. Their staff is generally excellent and I cannot recommend a better place if you are looking for a good home for someone you care about.
Hardly any activities for the residents. They stick residents in front of a TV all day. On the bright side it is very clean and landscaped well.
I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. Unfortunately at the time of our search they did not have any availability, but this place really looked great and I'd say it is definitely worth a look for families looking into senior care in the area!
