Legend Lancaster is an impressive facility. The office staff, maintenance team and care givers are helpful, professional and very kind. I can't thank them enough for taking care of our father.
This review is based on my brother-in-law (S**) admission. He has Alzheimer's. It's pretty bad he doesn't remember, incoherent, & paranoid. From first day there was lack of communication. Upper mgmt fired head charge nurse on spot before admission day. S** was put in room where previous occupant was relocated out because a female patient consistently came in his room. 5+ x a DAY! Seriously! Numerously, we found her sleeping in his bed, she had repeatedly defecated (diarrhea) in bed, on the floor & in the bathroom. Disgusting!! Mgmt. & staff knew of issue and still put S** in said room. Told…

Told there was NOTHING they could do!. Aggravation triggered S** to to act out. Staff couldn't resolve, no mgmt on site. Cops were called, took S** to hospital. Mgmt Said NO TAKE BACKS! Still in hospital to date. State on site for 3+ days. Knew a bout woman. Legends falsely ramped up staff+ . Surprisingly, as per friends this is normal at memory care facilities. They can't fix it. Very Sad.
Very friendly staff. Activities director keeps people busy with various activities. Food is varied and well prepared. Location is perfect. CVS drugstore within walking distance. Several medical offices about a mile away. So far, we have no complaints.
Though they certainly were a handful of very kind professional caregivers. My experience for my husband was there was very little hands on ADL assistance. I even found or observed that assistance was not provided to residents who needed assistance to eat their meals. “I’m not allowed to feed residence “. I didn’t much understand this, but I did observe that this did happen.
In a nutshell shell the are terribly understaffed and should not be operating with out the proper people My Dad fell and injured himself too many times to count in a 6 week period and I had to find him a new place Would not recommend that place to any one
[price removed] charge for power wheelchair! Need more activities. Orientation to the facility would be helpful. Food is good breakfast is the best. Housekeeping of my room could be better. PS we just celebrated Madrid gras. We had mask beads snacks and music. It was great fun.
The facility itself is very nice and neat. Rooms are a decent size and multiple floor plans to choose from. Friendly staff but not enough of them. Residents are given call buttons, but takes staff forever to respond and the staff does not know if the reason for the call is emergency vs non emergency. Food at first was decent, but now the portions and quality have greatly diminished and multiple times have been told they are out of things. I was hoping for a place where I didn't have to worry about my loved one, but it's very sad when that loved one has had to call me multiple times because no one is responding to their call for help. Rent/care just went up, but the quality of care going down.
Staff need to have better qualification and skills. They also need a better administration. I would absolutely not recommend Legend of Lancaster to anyone.
