Ask about this communityLegacy Place Cottages in Allentown, Pennsylvania is a small, faith‑based senior care home developed by Jehovah’s Witnesses and operated by the nonprofit Jah‑Jireh Homes of America‑Allentown. The community provides assisted living, personal (residential) care and memory care households in a setting designed for residents who want worship and spiritual activities aligned with Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The facility has an intimate capacity (about 48 beds) at a campus on Bevin Drive and maintains a charitable care fund to subsidize residents who exhaust private resources. In Pennsylvania the home is run as a private‑pay personal care provider; the organization says Medicaid does not fund personal care level services in the state. Legacy Place accepts VA benefits and many long‑term care insurance policies and lists contact information for inquiries and tours.

I’m writing this as a fellow Jehovah’s Witness to spread awareness, if it may help even just one person that sees: My grandfather has been a part of Legacy Place Cottages for the past 2 years. Make no mistake. Employees are NOT Jehovah’s Witnesses. Only the residents are. There are caretakers there that do not belong in that career. Shaneesha is the poorest example of a caretaker I have ever seen. Mean to a mourning family, unhelpful, uncaring, and neglectful. I felt absolutely horrendous leaving my grandfather in her care. Thankfully there are kind ones. Dana was one of the nicest people I…

Thankfully there are kind ones. Dana was one of the nicest people I ever met and always showed compassion. It’s a shame everyone else was not like her. Please check in on your loved ones as much as possible. The illusion that they are always left in the best of hands is a false one.
I went on an interview a week ago with a manager named Kyle for a PCA position. I have 25 years experience with providing personal care and assistance to individuals that need assistance. Once Kyle walk into the interview room he looks at me with disgust in his eyes and proceeded with the interview. I got to the job 10 minutes before my interview and was professionally dressed along with my resume and credentials. I waited 15 to 20 minutes to be interviewed to only be asked questions for three minutes. Kyle stated that if I was chosen to be hired that I will receive a call from HR and if I…

I got to the job 10 minutes before my interview and was professionally dressed along with my resume and credentials. I waited 15 to 20 minutes to be interviewed to only be asked questions for three minutes. Kyle stated that if I was chosen to be hired that I will receive a call from HR and if I was wasn’t chosen that I wouldn’t receive a call from no one. When he stated that I know exactly how the interview went. I honestly believed i wasn’t chosen for the position because Kyle didn’t like my cultural background along with my skin tone. It’s highly unfortunate that some individuals in Pennsylvania are stuck in 1867. After the interview I felt disgusted and discourage to even to apply to other companies. Shame to this company and the individuals that they have in leadership roles.
It has truly been a blessing to come to know the staff.

Legacy Place Cottages is only Jehovah's Witnesses there. The reason I want to go there is that I am a witness, and it would be with my sisters and brothers that are there already. It's a very small place, and I know a couple of people that are there. I'm not close to them, but I know them quite well. That's the only place I would feel at home that I would feel good going to, and that's why I wanted to go there to apply. It is small, and then they have a building across the way for dementia and that type of problem. The brother that showed us around took my application. I'm saying just as in the congregation; they're not blood relatives. There was a sister that came right out and met us, and she wanted to show us her room. I don't know how long she was there, but she was very friendly. The kitchen is right out in the open. You could go to breakfast any time in the morning and then they have a special time for lunch and dinner. They have certain things going on as far as the congregation goes like daily scriptures we do every morning. I'm 91 years old and I don't go out at night anymore, and I can get my meeting on Zoom. If I went there, I would still get my meeting from up here on Zoom. That's the reason I really would only want to go there because a witness built it, and he built it for witnesses.
It’s like living at the Waldorf. Staff, facility, security, meals, personal care and so forth is top notch.
What I have learned about this facility is really overwhelming. It is a clear demonstration that Jehovah truly takes care of his people. All praise to Jehovah!
