My dad has been here for a few weeks. Some nurses are great and some shouldn't be working in nursing. Some have horrible attitude towards family members and residents. Why does it take 3 weeks of asking for a family does laundry sign to be put in a door? Then get attitude for asking about it. So clothes don't go missing? Why do they shut off the alarms for residents and why are residents sitting in their own mess for hours before changing a resident? Why do they shut off the alarms for residents and why are residents sitting in their own mess for hours before changing a resident? My dad even rang his alarm way before messing himself and he was ignored. You see alarms going off when you go in for a visit and you leave an hour or so later. Same alarms are going off when you leave. But you see 5 or 6 nurses sitting at the nurses station talking constantly. Night shift refused to get him up to use the bathroom. Came into the room turned off his alarm and walked out of the room. Let let him sit in his own mess till shift change. This place needs reported for neglect of residents. It smells like old piss and hallways are a fall hazard for residents, staff and visitors.

I brought my wife into this facility for physical therapy due to advanced stage 4 Kidney Cancer. She had been bedridden for over one month and she couldn’t even stand up without the assistance from 2 people. She was there only 2 days and the staff had her standing up and walking with a walker at least 20ft. In her therapy session that same day, she was using the exercise bike.Being her husband It gave me encouragement and hope that we are in the right place. The staff are very compassionate and they don’t see it as a job but as a calling.

I would not recommend Kittanning Care Center. Since mid-February, I noticed my mom seemed off. They said it was a UTI. By March, she worsened. When I asked her to be sent to the hospital, they assured me they could handle everything there. Communication was poor, and they lost her teeth, always saying they were "working on it." By late March, she deteriorated further. During my visit on 4/1, her call bell went unanswered for 45 minutes. The next day, I insisted she be hospitalized. Hours later, they finally sent her out. At the hospital, she was found to be neglected, dehydrated, had bed…

At the hospital, she was found to be neglected, dehydrated, had bed sores, and lost 15 lbs a month since November 2024. She now has dementia and faces a long recovery. After hospital admission, the care center only called to inquire about her room, showing no concern for her well-being. They almost killed my mother and showed no remorse.

There is a lot more that I could say but these are the most important parts. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO HERE, they need shut down!

If you care about your family at all do not put them in this place! Worst smells you could imagine, totally filthy. It was my father in law, so my husband's family decided to put him in this horrible , disgusting place. Rooms were never cleaned, unless done by family. Had it been my decision he would not have stayed in this place. I begged my husband's family to please bring him home where we could have provided the best care for him without a problem at all. But it was their choice to leave him here to die & suffer. I will pray everyday that others care enough about their loved ones that they never consider this place. They lied to us about cost til after he was admitted, then come to find out they insisted on $105 more a day than they told us before admittance.

My Mother moved in here 2 years ago, just before it was bought by Saber Healthcare, and still Kittanning Care Center. - The quality of care has gone downhill, especially in the last three to four months. Lots of the better staff has recently left, the facility is much dirtier, sewer flys, food is much worse. The higher ups cut so many quality of life things like bed pads/pans, replaced Styrofoam cups with heavy plastic cups my mother can't pick up, etc. So many nurses have agreed with me and wish it was still owned by the previous owner. I'm incredibly disappointed because it was a really good nursing home two years ago. If they just reversed their recent decisions, especially to get some of the old staff back, I'd be so happy. It was so nice that they had a program with the local technical schools and a lot of young energetic nurses were around.

Horrible! My aunt was recovering from hip surgery here she lost 15# in 30 days food not good almost inedible I tasted and I wouldn’t eat it! Brought in snacks to assist . Janel the Social worker is a JOKE did not return any phone calls or complete any task to assist with her discharge even though she stated “ I ‘ll do whatever I hafto to help”. She’s has to stay two extra days d/t Janel not completing paperwork for hosp bed! Which is 700.00 extra! There was no soap or rubber gloves in her room for four days I had to ask to get some because I was taking her to bathroom and nurse did not have gloves on her med cart either which tells me they are NOT using them! Requested to speak to administrator about problems was told she was not in and was not offered her voicemail to leave mess had to ask for voicemail from direct of nursing reception would not assist! Only good thing was activities tried ! Would look elsewhere if placing loved one hear!

Just an horrible place. My mother didn't get out bed most of the weekend. Why you might ask. They were out of breifs. This isn't the first time either. On top of that the building was hot.
