This is the best nursing home in the area! It is small enough that the residents get personalized care and the workers there, genuinely go above and beyond for the people they take care of

My dad is a resident at Highland View. I am very grateful to everyone there for the care and love they give to my dad. Thank you to all!!

left my love one here against my better judgement came in 3 days in a row and found them either laying in bed or in a chair clothes wet with urine they said they were waiting for me to take care of them. my loved one is a type 1 diabetic and to days he had a blood sugar in the forties and they didn't seem concerned at all said just give him some candy or whatever you would do for them at home. Would not recommend this facility.

Never checked on my mom. Left her on a bed pan about an hour. Very rude staff. If you put someone in this nursing home you better be with them 24/7 because they will be neglected!

I cannot recommend this place. Many shady things happened there to my mom. I didn't realize until it was too late. One nurse , Deb,should not be in the medical profession. Due to her lies, She was responsible for my mom being sent to 3 different psych wards where she ultimately passed in the hospital . if your loved one suffers from dementia do not leave them in the care of Highland View.

Food and cleanliness are lacking. Most of the staff do not care about their patients. Rehab is good if they think you’re getting out. Long term patients get minimal care. I asked the administrator to address several issues and never got the answer she promised to follow up on.

Do not place your loved one in this home if they have a high level of need. Our 99 year old mother was very weak, physically, but clear minded, when she entered the home. Staff neglected her. She was expected to feed herself, even though she could barely lift a utensil to her mouth. She reached a point where she had trouble chewing and swallowing. We were told she would be put on a mechanical diet and someone would feed her. It didn't happen. She developed bed sores, one reaching the bone. Unfortunately, we didn't realize the neglect until it was too late. We wanted to move her, but no other homes had a bed. Yes, Mom didn't have a lot of time left in this world, but because of the severe neglect in this home. she left it too soon.

Highland View is now part of the Guardian Healthcare system. First thing I noticed is that the place is immaculately clean. Mom has been there 3 months and staff is attentive and caring. There have been a number of times they have gone out of their way to make sure she is happy. She enjoys the wide variety and excellent preparation of the food! Lots of planned activities and church services. I am there often and have not seen 1 single instance of impatience, rudeness, roughness or any inappropriate behavior by a staff member towards a resident. We are counting blessings that we found this place.
