PT: I wouldn't recommend Embassy if physical therapy is required. Nursing: There's also a big powerful nurse that her coworkers are afraid of. She's angry at the patients that need nursing services provided, i.e., total lack of compassion, and no one in management has the courage to get her replaced. The good, conscientious nurses won't say anything critical about their cruel coworker, so the situation is endless. One star, because there's no such thing as zero stars. This star is for the very few employees at hearthside who actually give a crap 3 years ago my bariatric mother was there for rehab sent home without instruction or the equipment needed to care for her It was a grueling process getting everything so she could safely be in her home... Hospital bed wheel chair, lift chair... Nothing A few years later Here we are with a friend who was there for rehab after pneumonia that almost killed her 3 times Get the same old 3 day notice of release... When the day before they were still being told a couple weeks they'll be ready for release.... She gets…

Hospital bed wheel chair, lift chair... Nothing A few years later Here we are with a friend who was there for rehab after pneumonia that almost killed her 3 times Get the same old 3 day notice of release... When the day before they were still being told a couple weeks they'll be ready for release.... She gets released without the script for a nebulizer Which she needs for her breathing treatment I get it... Things aren't always quick, sometimes there's issues.. Ok But I call and call and call to be lied to blatantly After she's missed 3 treatments I get told we are working on it Well I'm not sure why breathing isn't at the top of the priority list Or why safety, mobility, care assessment and compassion have zero roles upon release The DON did not return my calls A nurse who actually needs 10 stars actually picked up the ball and faxed the order Which I completely appreciate and thank her There were numerous incidents where this client was treated horribly Tell her to use a filthy toilet with bm on it or they'll call social services??? Nice job!! I'm not placing all of the blame on this facility I know there's red tape insurance etc However, these "professionals" also have a duty Would not recommend this facility!!

Over the years, this facility has had its challenges, and it’s important to acknowledge that history honestly. That said, what stands out today is how intentionally and visibly leadership has worked to turn things around. The changes in care delivery, staffing, and accountability are not surface level, they are real and consistent. The focus on resident-centered care is evident, from improved clinical oversight to stronger communication with families and providers. Staff engagement has improved, and it shows in the day-to-day experience of residents. No facility is perfect, but this one has…

No facility is perfect, but this one has clearly committed to learning from the past and doing better, and it’s paying off. It’s encouraging to see a skilled nursing facility take ownership of where it’s been and put in the work to become a leader in quality care. That effort deserves recognition. Way to go to the team at Embassy of Hearthside!

Led by a dynamic administrator with more than 20 years of experience, Hearthside greets you with a warm welcome the moment you cross the threshold. I love Hearthside!

Visited a friend who is cared for here. Dated facility but clean. Staff friendly and helpful.

I witnessed the administrator of this facility, of all people, reprimanding an employee in the middle of the entry hallway loud enough that I could hear the conversation, as could other staff members/residents walking by, and directly in front of the front desk worker. When the conversation was over, the employee walked away in tears. Definitely not a conversation to be had out in the open like that for any and everyone to hear. It should have happened in a closed office. HIGHLY unprofessional on the administrator’s part.

As a local business that prides itself on supporting families and their loved ones in their final stages of life, we have always gone above and beyond to provide the best care and service possible. However, I must express my deep frustration with the lack of professionalism and care demonstrated by Hearthside recently. Today, in an effort to assist a family dealing with the loss of their loved one, I reached out for information, only to be met with multiple hang-ups and an overall lack of assistance. This is not the level of service we expect from any business, particularly one entrusted with the well-being of vulnerable individuals. While we have previously worked closely with Hearthside, after recent experiences, I can no longer, in good conscience, recommend their services to anyone. If you or a loved one is in need of nursing home care, I strongly encourage you to explore other options. The families we serve deserve better, and it’s crucial that we hold all businesses accountable for the care and compassion they provide.

If you want to know what a place is like, ask a patient. That is what I am and have been here almost 3 months. I had to have my left leg amputated above the knee. I was diabetic and didn't know it. I was at another care facility in Philadelphia and they were not giving me the care I needed as requested by my surgeon. They were changing my bandages daily. I was told that from the time I would decide to have the surgery done, I should be able to get back on my feet in approximately 5 to 8 months and be back on my feet...fitted with an artificial leg and could get on with my life. I was there approximately 2 years and 4 months. I paid for an ambulance service over $2300.00 out of my own pocket to get here to Embassy. It took 2 months to find a place with an open bed/room. When I got here, they do an intake evaluation and found that my ' good leg ' had puss coming out of it in 3 different places. They immediately put me on antibiotics for 10 days and changed my bandages daily. For that I am grateful. The first nurse I met was Katelyn and she is terrific. But there are some serious issues that need corrected. They get money from the insurance/aide I am on and they take all of my Social security each month except for $45. Right now it is a little after 10 pm and there is a man, yelling at the top of his lungs and does this for hours. Sometimes all night. Usually every day. You can't sleep. My first week here he did this for a full day and a half....non stop. He has a mouth like a cannon. Any staff who thinks this should be tolerated, needs to spend a full week here so they can see what it's like. It's ridiculous. Why would you put someone like this on a floor where most people are normal and trying to get rest. They say he has dementia. They have a dementia section. Why isn't he put there?? I am 66 years old and in my right mind and make my own decisions. I have trouble getting something as simple as ice water and ice. That may not seem like a big deal to some, but it is when your flat on your back and can't get up to get it yourself. I've been told by the doctors here that I'm dehydrated and need to drink lots of water/fluids. I cannot drink warm water. Last night, I had an aide by the name of Ashley. I have to wear diapers for now and have the aides change me. I will call her Ashley #1. When she was done changing me, I told her I needed ice and water. She told me I'd have to " wait ". What she doesn't know is that earlier that day during 1rst shift, I went through the same crap. I asked for ice and ice water and was told I may have to wait because the ice cooler was still in the kitchen. An hour later, my nurse came in. I asked her to do something to get ice water. She said she would call the kitchen. Another hour went by. I used my cell phone and called into the building and told the operator to get someone to get ice water for me. I had ice water in 5 minutes. This is ridiculous. It's been about an hour and that man is still yelling. Non stop. I went through the same crap with this Ashley #1 two nights ago also. I said " Why do I have to wait?? ". She is the only aide who pulls this crap. She said something about she wasn't a servant!! I don't know where that came from. Then she said something about why would I want to deny 5 other people help. I guess she wanted me to feel guilty because she had other people to help. What does that have to do with me?? The night before I had to wait 10 minutes short of 3 hours to get ice and water. I had asked another aide at 5 PM and this Ashley a little after 6 pm. I got it 10 minutes before 8 pm. I had talked to the administrator about this and she said that when I ask for ice water, I should get it. I said to this woman, your an aide. You are to aid and assist your patients and you should finish with one before you go start on another. Alot of these aides say they will be back and then don't come back, or you have to call for them again.
