Resident & family reviews

A great experience for my dad. He stayed for a week while the family went on vacation. The process was smooth and the staff was helpful, nice and accommodating!

The staff at Grandview is caring and competent… they took care of my wife who was there off and on for 100 days… she had some complications that required two brief hospital stays while at Grandview. Like many skilled nursing facilities staffing is a challenge but the ladies who help my wife were great! Kimberly, Wendy, Lisa, Ashley, and the nurses were all very helpful and caring throughout my wife’s stay. Plus the OT and PT staff were encouraging and helpful during her stay … Maddie of the OT staff and Stephanie (?) of PT kept me informed of her progress and went out of their way to help her…

Debbie is now at home continuing her recovery now missing the many friends she made while at Grandview.

When I first put my mother in law in Grandview everything was amazing. New administration and new people hired in 2022 and everything went south. MIL never had the correct glasses on(either wearing other residents glasses or hers were always lost or broken) it took the day she died for her new glasses that I requested 2 yrs ago for her to show up and she never got to wear them. There is no communication between administration, social workers. Calls go unanswered and only call you if your loved one fell, not acting like themselves or the call they passed. I asked for several plan of care meetings and had 1 meeting the whole 3 1/2yrs she was there. When I did get a meeting I was made felt like I was burdening them If I didnt advocate for my mother in law and got stern with the staff nothing would have gotten done or she wouldn't hardly receive much care. Finance department is a joke. I received statements in the mail the first 2 yrs and the lady retired and then they hired Suzanne. I never received statements of how much was in my MILs spending account. I would call her and Sharon at the desk in lobby would transfer my call to Suzanne but always went to voicemail. I got so upset I went in and went right to Suzanne office and she promised me monthly statements mailed to us. Never got one! ....until I went to her office again the morning my mother in law passed. Got a statement, finally. Waited aprox 18 days after my mother in law passed , still no check given to me or cleared out statement. I had to email her 19 days after my mother in law passed to see if she sent the remaining money to the funeral home so I could have ground broke at cemetery to lay her to rest. The check was mailed to the funeral home but almost 900 dollars short. Then on the statement 792 in citizen security premiums were paid on May 8th, 7 days after she passed. You cannot bill a deceased person for services after they passed. Suzanne delete over 920 dollars for premiums to the company 360 citizens security for upcoming services in may after she died. I literally spend 3 days emailing the administrator, Suzanne to let them know what was going on. Suzanne only answered me after the funds were sent to funeral home and not the correct amount. I called citizens security letting them know my mother in law passed and they weren't aware she passed. I called assistance office and said nursing home didn't report death. The state found out because the funeral home called social security and social security let the state know. The state customer service line told me to call their fraud line, dept of health, ombudsman and aging office. Ombudsman and aging office had me make a police report since she was deceased. Called police and it got ppl moving and investigating over this memorial day long weekend. The cop called me 40 mins after I got home from making the report and he making phone calls to grandview and administration near Harrisburg. A head person in Harrisburg looked over Suzanne s record keeping and noticed my mother in laws acct is owed money back. So its a civil matter at this point and they better get our family in there after the holiday and we get what we are owed to give to the funeral home. I want to put this all to rest, grieve. One more thing, if your family member seems like they are getting close to end of life, call hospice to have extra sets of eyes on your loved one while they are at grandview. Its free and also comforting to know she was getting more care then what the under staffed facility was giving to my MIL towards the end. The last 2 years at grandview after the finance lady retired and the employees who were competent all left and no one communicates and administration knows nothing about your loved one. I wouldn't put a rat in this facility. Always falls and bruises. I had to beg them to take her for a cat scan. Also there was feces all over her walker. The dresser and stand was gross. Patients all seem to be laying around in bed all day. 4 ladies in one room. Sad!!

This was my 2nd time at Grandview in about 9 months. The nurses, aides and therapy staff were great with me. The ladies involved in Activities (4), were fully involved and made everything fun. Everyone was so encouraging as I progressed. I made some good friends at our meal table, which carried over to cards and the TV room. I miss everyone that I met. The food, honestly, could be better, but I ate most every meal. All in all, 2 really good experiences. I would recommend anyone who needs a short term rehab stay.

My father spent 30 days at Grandview,, and the care he received there was exceptional,, he is 83 yrs old and looked like a totally different man while he was there,, the staff was amazing,, accommodating not only my father but our family also,, I would recommend Grandview to anyone looking to get rehabilitation for there family

Friendly, caring and helpful staff.

My neighbor was admitted for two months after she fell and broke her pelvis. The staff was always very helpful and friendly. Once she was discharged I was very surprised to continually receive texts checking on her. I was comforted to know that if I needed anything to help her, Grandview was right here supporting us.

Kind hearted people, easy to get along with!
