Unfortunately my brother spent his last week of life in this [profanity removed] hole. I will forever be saddened that we had run out of options as we looked for a hospice facility. The facility is filthy, toilet in room leaked was reported twice supposedly repaired never was, which left my brother to walk in sewer water every time he used the bathroom unsafe and unsanitary. Staff was unresponsive and treated him so poorly that I received calls from him crying that he didn’t feel safe. Food was absolutely disgusting. As you walk around the facility (once you pass the beautiful lobby) you wonder how a place like this is allowed to exist. Our fellow citizens who have lost everything once they are admitted deserve better. To be treated well and be cared for. Corporations like this one should be fined and shut down, sadly they are allowed to make a profit while humans suffer mentally and physically.
They gave my Dad an Albuterol treatment walked away and never came back I had to turn the nebulizer machine off because it was very HOT and clean my Dads neck and Face because the Nurse never came back to check on him.
Easy to go in but hard to get out.... Feels like management only cares about money... My Dad has Medicare Plan A and B but management will argue that he has no insurance and they will not back down all because they want more money . I had to call Medicare to ask if he had Medicare which he does but the facility says he has no insurance. They are trying to get a Medicaid grant which they will not get because my Dad makes over the income guideline. We want to bring him home but the facility wont release him home to us. Also, the place has all their patient screaming and sleeping in the hall…

Also, the place has all their patient screaming and sleeping in the hall ways as you go pass and we had to ask numerous of times for a nebulizer treatment. There is no Doctor on site only nurses. This place should be closed down . Were still in the process of trying to get my Dad out and bring him home. The place smells and I even got a close call to Pneumonia just visiting my Dad with all the bacteria and sickness in that place.
GARDEN SPRINGS IS DREADFUL!!!! My aunt is an unfortunate resident there for the past 2 years. She is unable to move about on her own. She needs help with almost all of her personal needs, walking, toileting, eating, etc. Many times she has asked for a nurse/aid to assist her to the bathroom. They tell her to go in her "diaper" and they'll clean her later. Well, later - is many many hours later. My sister recently visited her (about 2 weeks ago) and the smell in her room was awful. More fowl than usual. My aunt had gone #2 in the early evening before and the nurses/aides still had not changed her as of 2:00 pm the following day. While my sister was visiting my aunt went #2 again in the same diaper. My sister said to push for the nurse. My aunt quickly said "NO" they'll be mad. Needless to say my sister pushed for the nurse and there was no response. She went to the nursing station right outside the room and there was NO ONE at the nurses station and NO STAFF anywhere on the entire floor. THAT IS CRIMINAL!!!! In the past year, my sister has complained and even tried to cajole the nursing staff to take better care of my aunt but she continues to receive very poor care. Of course there are some staff who occasionally do the right thing but overall her care is very poor. Another example is the poor quality of food served to patients. My sister actually observed lunch being served. It consisted of a very small club role with 1 thin slice of ham placed on the roll with a few chips on the plate. That was considered lunch. Disgraceful!!!! PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS FACILITY.- THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS.. THIS PLACE IS HORRID AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.
My husband was a patient in Garden Spring Center for two months. When he arrived he was unable to walk and needed help with all ADLS. I cannot say enough about the staff, the therapists and the administrators. The staff worked together as a team, encouraged my husband and he slowly began to improve. When discharged he was sorry to go and was able to walk again and enjoy the company of others.
Mom was sent hear by temple, she has acute kidney failure.Never have they once sent her out to have her blood cleaned, they are trying to keep her sick.T here bottom line is,money first above all else. The directors who run the place are very rude, everything out there mouth is so negative. These people have no compassion what so ever.
Awful place but a few wonderful staff members. We admitted our loved one on a Friday night and we were horrified. the place smelled awful and our loved one was placed in room with someone that defecated anytime and would throw the feces. As soon as we put his cup on the bed tray an army of nats gravitated toward the straw. We hated to leave him there and immediately transferred him to another facility that Monday. When we arrived there was no welcoming and the staff did not know details regarding our loved ones admission. They were not compassionate and were so technical that they lacked Customer Service skills and did not have appropriate accountability to the family or to the residents. Not to mention the fact, that the conditions of the residents was so sad that we left feeling oppressed and awakened to the fact that placing a loved one in a nursing home permanently was not an option and that we did not ever desire to be placed in one in the future.
Not at all impressed with the care. As a family member, I was ignored & needed to make repeated calls in between visits to monitor care. I did this because when I was there, residents were isolated in the rooms with no activities & very limited (if any) rehab. There was always an excuse for why rehab was not being rendered. Food was not healthy & no effort was made to assist a resident if he was not able to feed himself. If food was not eaten be the time the tray was to be collected, it was taken away. In addition, I can not get a phone call returned to address the finances related to the stay. I would not recommend this facility.
