Foxdale Village was very nice and it would have everything we would need if we needed more help taking care of ourselves. It's nicely landscaped, and the interior spaces were lovely. It's just not what we need right now. I didn't have a formal tour. I had an informal tour with my friend who lived in one of the apartments there. It's like a little house and it was set up very nicely. She had her own furniture there, and she had her own things hanging on the walls. It was nicely maintained by Foxdale. She had assistance in cleaning, she had assistance in getting around if she had some problems,…

It's just not what we need right now. I didn't have a formal tour. I had an informal tour with my friend who lived in one of the apartments there. It's like a little house and it was set up very nicely. She had her own furniture there, and she had her own things hanging on the walls. It was nicely maintained by Foxdale. She had assistance in cleaning, she had assistance in getting around if she had some problems, and she had meals and that seemed to be very good. She said she liked the food. It's one of the most expensive ones in town and that concerned me because I'm not sure that we could maintain ourselves at those costs. They can provide assistance as needed. When you buy into Foxdale, as you age and develop more physical problems, you can transfer from independent living into more assisted living gradually, and then full assistance if you develop dementia or if you develop some other disease that requires full-time attention.
Best facility for older, (mostly) independent folks I've ever experienced. Would highly recommend!
I have oodles of friends who live there. I have hopes of being there myself.
Sharing 22 years of experiences visiting a loved one weekly at Foxdale Village who transitioned after years in a cottage to assisted living at Foxdale. While at first glance Foxdale may seem large in comparison to other similar places in the area, it’s charming and comfortable — truly a quaint village. Thinking of so many experiences interacting with residents and the many layers of employees sharing meals, participating in activities and programs and the facilities amenities and beautifully maintained grounds — there really is so much to choose from weekly. I enjoyed watching years of friendships and employee interactions while visiting. It’s a very caring environment. I know my loved one was very happy living at Foxdale for more than 20 years and appreciated the care received. The wellness care exceptional. The thoughtfulness for resident experiences amazing. Always seemed like a very integrative team of people from the employees to the residents at all hours. A really great community in the middle of State College.
We lived at Foxdale Village for 10 years. We had our own doctor, our own total care, assisted living, and independent living. It met all our needs. It was sparkling clean, and the public bathrooms were unbelievably clean. The food was excellent. None of the activities were run by the Foxdale people. We have 19 committees, and we all did that ourselves. If you have an interest, you can start a group. The staff was excellent. They had quite an extensive library, activity rooms, meeting rooms, auditorium, and swimming pool, and they're going to build a bocce place because some residents want it. It's well run. The independent living had homes joining each other and divided into neighborhood and ours was particularly close. We had 12 homes in that neighborhood. The assisted living was down in the main building and ate with us in the same restaurant. We can call in or the health office for medicine, and it's delivered to our home. If you need a refill, you just call up the pharmacy, and they bring it out to you. They also had medical service where people come to the apartment in the morning between 6:00 and 8:00 in the morning, and they knock on your door and take a sample of whatever is required. If you don't feel like getting up, they'll come take it in your bed, so you don't even have to get up, you just roll over and go back to sleep. I've never heard of any place doing that, but it's really nice to have that there.
An excellent facility. The best of the best.
I have been a resident at Foxdale Village for many years and have been grateful for living in such a friendly and comfortable environment. My daughter and husband have been so impressed with my care. They have recently moved been too.
I live in assisted living and have excellent care. Caregivers are so good and caring. The professional medical staff is exceptional. We really are a true community.
