What I witnessed today should never be allowed to happen to anyone! Leaving a visit w.my mother a gentlemen, who apparently had told his nurse he needed to be taken to the bathroom and was not, or was ignored. Was standing naked in his doorway Defecating on the floor! What I can't get off my mind is the nurse coming over and telling him: you are so nasty! How dare she treat him like that! If that had been my mom I'd have made sure her job was gone before I left the building! She clearly doesn't enjoy it or care about the people she's there for! Idk if anyone called her out or not but she…

Well to start with they almost killed me! I had a heart attack The nurses came in gave me a Tylenol and a Tums and told me to go back to sleep that the pain would go away! I had to call my wife in order to help me get an ambulance was the most life-threatening situation I've ever been in in my life and they had no care or qualms to leave me lie there to die! I highly recommend you do not send your family members to this facility It is an accident waiting to happen! My family and I plan on following through with this eventually as soon as I'm well please please be careful!!
If your loved one has significant medical needs or requires a high level of care, keep looking. I’ve seen the positive reviews and statistics this facility promotes, but they don’t match what I witnessed. My first impression wasn’t a rehabilitation facility. It was chaos. Patients yelled in the hallways. Male residents wandered into female patients’ rooms. As a visitor, I felt unsafe. I can’t imagine how it felt for someone severely disabled and fully dependent on others. Then I entered the room. The smell of urine was immediate. The patient I visited was completely dependent on staff for basic needs, yet the room wasn’t set up for her condition. She couldn’t reach lights, blinds, the privacy curtain, or the phone. If her call light fell, she had no way to get help. She had not been bathed. I saw dirty hair, food on her body, and clear hygiene issues. After she was transferred to the ICU, the nursing supervisor confirmed it did not appear she had been washed in quite some time.I spent six hours there and saw no routine rounding. Staff entered only when the call light was used. She remained in bed the entire time, despite previously walking with a walker. I was told therapy evaluated her over the weekend but couldn’t get her out of bed until weekday staff were available. I also learned about a patient who screamed for help to use the bathroom for about an hour, which ultimately led to 911 being called. While I can’t verify the exact duration, it aligns with what I saw. At the nurses’ station, an LPN told me she was responsible for over 50 patients. That explains a lot. This isn’t an indictment of the nurses or aides. They appeared overwhelmed. It’s an indictment of a system expecting impossible workloads while caring for medically fragile people. Then came the most concerning part. Within about five days of arrival, the patient’s condition deteriorated to the point she required emergency transport. When her respiratory condition worsened, the initial response was reportedly a breathing treatment rather than calling 911. She had to advocate for herself to get emergency care. She was taken to the hospital, admitted to the ICU, placed on a ventilator, and required a tracheostomy. She entered for rehabilitation and left in respiratory failure requiring intensive care. Whether this was preventable is for investigators to determine. What I witnessed and what followed raises serious questions. Families deserve better than chaos and impossible staffing ratios. They deserve to know their loved one is monitored, cared for, and able to get help. Based on what I saw, I would never trust this facility with someone I love. I hope the Department of Health takes a hard look at what’s happening here.
The nursing staff is completely wonderful. They’re taking such good care of my friend. It means everything to me to know that he is happy. Well done!
Visiting my friend....the staff was great! The food looks like it could be better. But still overall great!! If I ever need post op therapy, please take me to Cedar Crest!
The growth of the staff is phenomenal. The time given to residents and families is known first hand. The team does whatever they can to make everyone's stay as comfortable as possible. They deserve to be noted as one of the best facilities. Congratulations and keep going!!!
My mother was looking great this morning. Thanks to the great CNA's they have working there. Blessings. 🙌
