We used this care facility for a few weeks for our loved one and it worked out well. They did an awesome job for him and he was as very happy with the care he received from Avalon. The staff was very friendly and attentive to what was needed. I appreciate all you did for him and in the future if we need a place again to e will definitely be going back. Thanks again.
The staff were so nice and sweet to my sister there . She loved all of them .She said if she ever had to go to a home permanently ,it would be there . They got her back on her feet and moving great .
Came for the first time To Visit a friend. She seemed as happy as she could’ve with her situation. The lobby was clean and there was a beautiful poinsettia still enjoying life!
This facility is HORRIBLE. They didn't even care enough to make sure my grandmother's dentures were inserted correctly so she could eat. Effectively starving her. There is nothing in the way of care here. The staff were unhelpful and downright rude when we'd ask even the simplest of question. I never saw a single person do any kind of work while I'd visit my grandmother. They just hide in the office. The damage this place did to my grandmother's health is irreversible, she is now bed bound because they missed so many of her injuries after her fall that landed her here. They didn't administer her medication. She had an undiagnosed UTI and blood clot in her lung when our family was finally able to move her. They never addressed her injured knee at all and lied to us about her condition. If you love your family or yourself DO NOT bring them here.
Horrific facility. Weekend care does not exist. Staff sits in break room majority of the time. Residents will sit on bedpan for 45 minutes to an hour before attention from staff and longer if the staff is doing “trays”. (This is not only on weekends.). My brother had brain cancer and when he was complaining of pain, a nurse asked him if he wanted his head cut off to get rid of the pain. Chemo pills were to be given whole. Three times they were administered crushed in pudding. All three times my brother became violently ill. Don’t bother contacting the Director of Nursing as she does not return a call. My brother had appointments for MRI’s and CT’s. Appointments would be cancelled by staff and family not notified. When questioned, family was advised transportation was not available. Family called transport facility and was advised Avalon was placed on hold due to lack of payment. Please look elsewhere for your loved one for care.
Choose another option, my father has not had a good experience there.
First off let me say thanks to the old Avalon back when John H owned it and it was a family and the team work was awesome everybody got along and John knew every staff member and resident by name. He treated the residents like they were his mother, father, and grandparents. No let’s talk about the angry RN while she is pointing fingers at other workers just remember how many of those fingers are pointing back at you!! You are sitting there talking about residents and just because you didn’t say the names you are still putting peoples loved ones business out there and that is not cool. You have done a lot of lying on people and stuff that you did not witness it was hear say, from people you use to work with and was good friends with. So stop because there isn’t anyone bothering you or putting you on blast and be glad that the god I serve won’t let me put you out there on front street. So with that being said stay off social media with that stupid stuff before you find yourself brought up on charges.
Don't work here if you have a backbone and a brain. One RN supervisor didn't send a full code patient out, and she died. Then...he asked the staff to lie about it. And he is still there. And the day the heat went out when it was going to be 17 degrees that night. Called the administrator about it and he replied..."is it really that bad?" The woman who fell on a night shift....she hit her face so hard the she broke her dentures WHEN THEY WERE IN HER MOUTH, and one of her teeth bounced so far and landed in the bedside commode. You know that the night shift supervisor did? Put her in a chair in the lobby all night. Ended up having multiple maxillofacial fractures. And last.....the patient who couldn't breathe and was begging for help. The LPN refused to treat her. Even the 92 year old roommate was asking for help for her. She had to watch her roommate suffer until she died. I would bet my life on these stories being true, just not a disgruntled employee. I will add...therapy and activities departments are fantastic.
