Moved my mom September 2025. The facility is top notch & the staff are amazing. I knew this was the best place for my mom as soon as I walked in. I did not have an appointment but staff were more than happy to give me a tour. Artis gives me peace of mind knowing my mom is safe & thriving.
I would like to recognize Med-Tech Gloria Mosley. First, although a Med-Tech, she doesn’t hesitate to help serve meals and clean up after them. She genuinely cares about the residents well being and it hurts her heart when one or more aren’t doing well. Her super power is that she can get the grumpiest of residents to smile with a nickname or a hug. She doesn’t mind or get flustered when residents “line up” at her med cart just to be near her fun energy!
While there are many caregivers who go above and beyond at Artis, we especially want to celebrate Bonnie! She's an amazing person, creative, with oodles of good energy who gives lots of love to our family member. Go Bonnie! You are much appreciated!!
I am always so moved by the staff at Artis, and as much as I'd like to highlight individuals who are stellar (which includes nearly all of them), it is their collective team spirit that I find so meaningful and powerful. These exceptional individuals work together to make a huge difference in the life of my husband and all the other dear residents, and I find that I'm often on the verge of grateful tears when I watch and experience the magic they accomplish. They are gifted with incredibly special hearts and skill sets, and my hat is off to all of them.
5 for all. It's been very good across the board. The staff is exceptionally good and caring. Facility is well planned and maintained. We would definitely recommend this community to other families based on our experience so far.
I would give all 5's. My wife has settled in nicely. Good communication between myself and staff. At two months everything is going well.
This is going to be a long review, but I can't help myself! I'd give Artis Senior Living of West Shore 23 stars if I could! I've been Mom's live-in caregiver for 2 years and we'd reached the point where I'd done all I could do and I needed help. Mom's dementia was causing anger towards me while being dependent on me for help with meals, insulin for her diabetes, and personal hygiene. I couldn't be out of her sight for more than 10 minutes and had to take her everywhere with me. She sat at home all day and watched tv. It wasn't sustainable any longer and I called Artis when I was at my wits end. Serenity Hoch answered my call and I was lucky enough that they had an opening. She recognized I was having a hard time talking to her without mom overhearing so she offered to text me. Within 2 weeks we worked together and it was move-in day! That move-in was traumatic. Mom screamed and cried. The staff at Artis couldn't have been more professional. Somehow we got her to her room and they did everything they could to make her comfortable and help her get acclimated. Here we are a month later - Mom is happy, has a core group of friends, and her diabetes is well managed. She loves the employees and says the food is great! When I go to visit everyone from management to nurses to CNAs to even the Culinary team knows Mom by name and sight. They know me and welcome me with open arms. They even let Mom's dog visit! They treat my mom like the loved person she is rather than focusing on her illness. They treat me like a member of their family and remind me that I'm allowed to have a life of my own. They were so happy for both of us when Mom had her first successful outing with us for her birthday! There are so many wonderful employees at Artis Senior Living of West Shore: Marina Bardsley creates fun activities for the residents to participate in and always speaks of them with respect and compassion. She sends me pictures of Mom in activities and cheers me on, reminding me that part of being a caregiver is knowing when it's time to get help. Gwen O'Neal worked with me to ensure they had an accurate listing of Mom's medicine and insulin schedule and she helped relieve my concerns about making sure her medical needs were taken care of. Gwen made sure they had thorough records and that they could successfully build on the care I'd been providing Mom. All of the CNAs have been wonderful! Mom bonded with a particular CNA, Allison Knoble, on that first traumatic night and now she considers Allison one of her besties! Allison knows how to convince my mom to do anything and she lets me know if mom needs anything. Tiffany was the nurse on duty that first traumatic weekend and she helped mom and I navigate those feelings and challenges. She made me confident that everything was going to be okay. EVERYONE at Artis has been amazing. The only regret I had is that I waited so long to look into an alternative for my Mom.
We are very pleased with the care and love that our dad has received at Artis. It is never easy to make the transition to memory care, but the team at Artis helped us and, more importantly, helped dad find a place where he feels comfortable and welcome. Everyone is patient, kind and passionate about their role in the lives of the residents, and for that we are extremely thankful.
